The month of February is a month of love as we celebrate the birthday of Saint Valentine as Valentine's day. All of us cherish our loved ones and show them how much we love them and how important they are in our lives.
No idea can be better than gifting them a surprise vacation for this special day. There are cities in the world which has romance in every vibe of them. These places can make your valentine's day experience memorable for a lifetime.
Let's start with our very world-famous symbol of love
1. Taj Mahal, Agra, India
If you know history, you already know that the Taj Mahal is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal who was the wife of Emperor Shahjahan. He loved her and when she died he built this monument to honor her and keep in his sight in his last days when he was a prisoner by his son on Agra Fort. The only thing that kept him alive was the fact that he was still able to see the Taj Mahal and remember her from his prison fort.
I visited the Taj Mahal in August 2018. It is not just the history but its architecture is marvelous too.
The world recognizes the Taj Mahal as a symbol of the love of Shahjahan for his wife and its marble frames and rich mausoleum tells the same story that you should witness on Valentine's day.
2. Jaipur, India
Our very own pink city. Pink is the color of love and so of Jaipur. Not just monuments but all the buildings here are painted in Pink. I visited Jaipur when I visited Agra.
Places as Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal give you the royal vibe and if you love history then the cherry on the cake.
Soak in the sun near pool on your royal stay in Jaipur and enjoy the historic architecture.
3. Lonavala, Maharashtra, India
I do not have a count of my visits here. A very short distance from Pune and a beautiful place to visit with your loved ones in winter and monsoon.
Sip a tea with your partner in winter amidst mountains.
Witness lush green mountains and beautiful saffron sunsets.
4. Coorg, Karnataka, India
For Coorg, you would be able to cover all places in mostly 2 to 3 days. Rainy season or winter will be the best days. We visited in Winter, I hope we get a chance in the next rainy season.
With the natural jewels like Abbey Waterfall and coffee plantation tours, Coorg makes a prominent place in romantic cities list.
Foggy weather and green mountains are the perfect way to have a coffee date with your loved one in the coffee city.
5. Goa, India
Let's talk about my all-time favorite destination. Either you stay here for a week for visit for a weekend, this state has many ways to mesmerize you. Adventure sports. beaches, casinos, and mountains around to trek, every one of them is a romantic choice to explore. I and my husband welcomed the new year in December 2019 in Goa while enjoying the sunburn festival.
Walk hand in hand on the beach and relax on the sack.
Experience Adrenaline rush by exploring water sports and winning streak at casinos.
Goa makes you fall in love with it over and over again.
6. Lucerne, Switzerland
We visited Europe for our honeymoon. One thing that we know from Bollywood movies is Europe is the most romantic continent in the world and Switzerland is the heart of that.
Lucerne is situated between the snow-capped Alps and Lake Lucerne. The stunning scenery of the Alps and under mountain waterfalls are bewitching.
Listen to romantic Bollywood songs along with the snowy mountain rides and give a shot at delicious swiss chocolates with your valentine.
7. Paris, France
Every romantic place's list is incomplete without Paris. Louvre Museum is the main attraction of Paris but every lane of this city shoutout romance. You feel loved and welcomed.
Take city tours in the day to experience the French way of life and take a tour again at the night to view how lovely the city looks at the night.
Picnic at a lawn near Eiffel Tower in the day and witness the lit-up Eiffel Tower in the night.
Tour the monuments in the night to witness a lovely city of lights.
I got to visit a bunch of romantic places by far in my life and these are the best of that lot. Travel is an important aspect of romantic relationships and we should regularly explore these romantic places the world offers. These are just a few of them and I am glad I got to be there.
