24th March: We travel to Orissa by car... There were so many amazing places to see in Orissa... We passed by the river Mahanadi which is a famous river in Orissa...Our First stop was visiting our ancestor birthplace of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose... We were not allowed to take pictures of the place from Inside even though we were related to our legendary freedom Fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose but still we did manage to get few snapshots of the place. Then after that place we travelled Back to Bhubaneshwar "The Crown Selection Hotel" which was our hotel to check in Bhubaneshwar.

25th March : We went to see few temples of Bhubaneshwar like the main Lingaraja Temple. In this temple we were not allowed to take any pictures of the temple so we took pictures from outside the temple... As we went into the temple we were mesmerised as to how big the temple were really were...Lots of people were moving in and out of the temple offering their prayers and devotion to Lord Lingaraj (Shiva). Inside we saw so many different avatars of Shiva idols and names... After Lingaraj temple we proceeded to Rajarani temple. It was surrounded by a beautiful garden and as we looked at the temple closely there were many carvings and sculptures engraved on the walls of the temple each telling its own story of the temple. After that we went to Chitrakarini temple. This was a small temple which was right next to Lingaraja Temple. After that we went to a viewpoint from where we took pictures of Lingaraj temple from outside the temple wall... Then we went back to the hotel. We travelled to Dhauli Shanti Stupa which was located in Kalinga... As you know there was a huge battle fought in Kalinga by King Ashok in early period. Our First stop was Dhauli Shanti Temple which was build near to Dhauli Shanti Stupa... From Dhauli Shanti Temple we were able to see the huge battlefield all around which used to be where Kalinga Battle was fought at one point of time and so many lives were lost... So After visiting the temple we went to Dhauli Shanti Stupa which was 10 mins walk from Dhauli Temple and as we reached the temple we saw the carvings engraved all around the white stupa and also different forms of Buddha in all around the Dhauli Shanti Stupa...It took me quite a while to take each and every pictures of the Stupa but it was really very beautiful to look at it

26th March: we went to Udayagiri and Khandagiri caves... It had beautiful caves located in Bhubaneshwar and location was really pretty as we look at it but both the caves were on the opposite direction... We went to Udayagiri caves only. So as we went up the caves. We was preparing to take some amazing pictures of different destination. took each and every detail pictures of the caves... There were different section of the caves too as you walk up the stairs. Then we went to Nandankanan National Park which was a built on 3000 Acres land of land. This park offers you Zoo with different variety of animals in cages and a National Park where they take you in a bus in different sections of the gates... As you travelled by bus... when each gates were opening up it felt like you are in a jurrasic world with huge gates opening to the wild... Animals are free on the other sides of the gates but you are in a bus observing them.

After the Nandankanan National Park. We travelled to Puri... we were happy and excited as we were seeking the blessing of lord Jaganath in Puri. We Visited lord Jaganath in evening... Like most temples. we had to submit our cameras near the shoe stand as no cameras were allowed. I did take some pictures before entering and after exiting the temple...As we entered the temple... We had to hire a Pandit which was organised by the hotel "Toshali Sands" There was a lot of gushing and pushing of people seeking the blessing of Lord Jaganath while entering the temple. They say if you can see Lord Jaganath then all your wishes will be fulfilled. After seeking the blessing we left the temple we returned to our hotel.

27th March: On the way to Konark we passed by Bhargavi River. This temple was dedicated to Surya Dev (Sun God) As we saw the temple for real we were amazed by its beauty... Each and every temple had its carvings on the wall telling its different stories and Each wheel of temple shows the time... Thats how people used to read time in those days... There used to be a Magnet on top of the temple but it was destroyed by the invaders who had come to invade Puri. This temple also had Four Chariot on the four sections of the temple. There was a beautiful stage where the dancers used to perform, It has also had a huge kitchen which were the food was made and there is a huge well where people used to draw water from the well to offer to their god Surya Dev. If you observe each and every sculptures engraved on the temple. Each had their own stories to share. On one section of the wall there were ladies dressing up with make up and heals.

After Konark Temple we passed by Puri beach and the beach looked so clean and pretty. Then we were on our way to see another museum of our ancestor Netaji Subhas Chandra bose which was built in Puri. As I looked at the museum from outside. It looked like it was not maintained properly. We took many pictures of that museum taking us back into time of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his life. After the museum we went to Sterling hotel for some nice lunch. On our way back we passed by rice field all around us and it looked so amazing with so much of green.

28th March: Today we went to Chilika / Chilka Lake where sea water had entered the lake. If you look carefully at the map. The place is known as Saptagachi. Over here boating was conducted. People could go to see Indian dolphins but we did not go on the boat. We went to the next section of the lake where there was a dock and many boats were at the boat stand. We visited the Chilka lake we went to Chilka authority Development museum which showcased the life or History of Chilka Lake. This building had two floor museum where the second floor showcased different various of fishes found in Chilka lake and also showed us history of Chilka Lake as to how it was man-made lake.

Places to stay:

Bhubaneshwar : We stayed at a 5 star Hotel "The Crown Selection Hotel" the stay was as relaxing as we can get... It was worth the stay.

Puri: We stayed at "Toshali Sands" Im not sure about the ratings but it was a hotel which was not upto the mark from the standard of the hotel to the service of the hotel. They were totally unprofessional and ignorant about anything that you ask or say to them. Rooms looked like a shabby room with no proper room service. We had to keep requesting them to clean our room... the maintainance was not upto the mark. The restaurant was ok but the washroom was not upto the mark. so i wont recommend this hotel to anyone... since we had experience bad service from them
