People out there in Delhi knows how frequent they visit jim corbett. After all its India's biggest national park where you can spot tiger. When it comes to spotting tiger, mind it.. i am saying spoting not seeing. Yes, you guys heard right. Come-on i will take you through the journey.
I am from mumbai and i have always been excited to see mountains and forest.. because we mumbaikers have only oceans out there to see.
I was very excited when my dad asked for jim corbett. Already had heard a lot about it.
It was a 4 days trip.... lets start from day one...
Jim corbett national park is a wildlife santury situated in Naintal district. It has total 215 tigers in National park. There are 4 gates to enter in national park. Most tigers are spotted from Bijrani gate.. Bijrani zone has total 8 tigers.
We took flight from mumbai to delhi and then cab to reach jim corbett. It is around 5hrs journey.
We booked club mahindra resort. The tariff of resort was Rs 7000 per person. I must say the property is worth of it.
We took rest on first day and explored resort.
We had a plan of exploring garjiya temple which is located near ramnagar village. We took tempo and fare per person was Rs 30. There are 2 ways to reach temple. Either choose trek to reach or tempo will directly drop you at temple. We choose trek and it is always fun to walk in forest. After about 30 mins of trekking we reached temple, did darshan and had langar.. (langar is a food offered to devotees free of cost).
We visited Dhangarhi museum which can be explored as well. It is a small museum where they have preserved the tiger skin which jim corbett has killed.
So the day has come for which we planned for jim corbett. Yes it was safari day. If you want to plan for jungle safari make sure you book your safari 45 days prior otherwise you may have to struggle for entry paas. It will cost you Rs 5000 - Rs6000 for a jeeb which can accompany 6 people. Also dont forget to carry your id cards. Unfortunately, we couldnt spot Tiger for which we visited for. We saw only deers and monkey which is obviously not a big deal. Usually tigers are spotted from Bijrani gate and we took entry from bijrani only.
So its all depends upon luck to spot tiger. If you are lucky enough u will get to see Tiger for which Jim corbett is famous for. There are quit a few places in jim corbett which can be visited. Like corbett fall, jim corbett museum and Shri hanuman dham. We visited them all.
Now with a sad face we left from jim corbett to Delhi by Train. It is not worth to visit jim corbett and come back without spotting any tiger. So if you guys wants to spend some time with nature you can definetly plan . #learningholiday
