The Tourism Board Of India of India has been working hard to promote tourism across the country while covering many circuits in line with the current Government's initiative 'Dekho Apna Desh' launched to promote special interest circuits in domestic tourism.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has proposed to operate the 'Bharat Nepal Ashtha Yatra' a 10-day tour package highlighting four important pilgrimage and heritage sites on the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train from March 31st.

The tour is proposed a day after 'Ram Navami'- celebrated on March 30th this year.

What are the boarding and de-boarding stations?

The train will depart on 31st March 2023 from Jalandhar but have boarding from Delhi Safdarjung. The 9-night -10 days tour will cover places like Ayodhya, Varanasi & Prayagraj in India and Pashupatinath (Kathmandu) in Nepal.

The boarding and de-boarding stations are Jalandhar City, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah and Kanpur.

What is the route covered?

In the 10-day tour, the train will cover the following destinations-

1. Ayodhya- Ram Janmbhoomi temple, Hanuman Garhi, SaryuGhat, Nandigram

2. Kathmandu- Pashupatinath Temple, Darbar Squire, Swaymbhunath Stupa

3. Varanasi- Tulsi Manas temple, SankatMochan temple, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and temple, Ganga Aarti at VaranasGhat

4. Prayagraj- Ganga Yamuna Sangam, Hanuman temple

What is the cost of the package?

The Train journey in 3 Ac Class offers two categories for its travellers - Comfort category and Superior category.

It Offers 600 tickets in total- 300 tickets in Comfort and 300 in the Superior category.

The passengers in the comfort category will be provided with Non-AC rooms for the night stay while AC rooms will be provided for passengers choosing the superior category.

Comfort category- A single share will cost ₹39,850, and a double share will cost ₹34,650. A child (5-11 years) ticket will cost ₹31,185.

Superior category- A single share will cost ₹47,820, and a double share will cost ₹41,580. A child (5-11 years old) ticket will cost ₹37,425.

What does the package include?

The package includes travel insurance for the passengers, security on the train, all transfers and sightseeing by non-AC- buses and all applicable taxes. It also includes vegetarian meals for lunches on trains.

Off-board vegetarian meals will be served- in high-quality eateries, hotels, banquets, and packaged meals.

As per the IRCTC website, a COVID-19 vaccination certificate is compulsory for temple darshan and sightseeing of monuments. All passengers should carry vaccination certificates in hard copy or by phone during the tour.
