India's Tallest Waterfall

Located on the Goa-Karnataka border, got world-wide known from the movie Chennai Express is the mesmerising Dudhsagar Waterfall.

Dudhsagar Waterfall is amongst the India's Tallest Waterfall with a height of 310m (1017 ft). The water splits into 3 streams over the cliff, thus forming a magnificent sight. This water falls is also known as Tambdi Surla to the locals.

This waterfall is under the jurisdiction of Goa forest department, as it is a part of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

One can enjoy a day at the base of waterfalls.

How to reach?

There are 2 ways to reach the falls:

1. By road:

From calangute, mollem is around 71.8 kms,  almost 2 hrs required to reach mollem.
Once you reach mollem, you can hire a jeep along with life jackets that takes you to the falls through bhagwan mahavir wildlife sanctuary. It a journey of almost 45 min to the falls from the entrance of sanctuary.

There are total 437 jeeps that can fit 7 people each.

Due to covid, they accommodate 5 persons in one jeep.

The jeep driver will charge extra if one extends the time given by the driver. We have time of 1 hr 30 min to reach falls from the entrance and enjoy at the base of falls.

The journey through the park to falls is amazing.

The last jeep to falls is at 2. Pm, after that no one is allowed to enter and the ticket counter is closed.

People who love treking, can trek through the forest to the falls. These people are provided with a guide.

2. By rail:

One can take a train to Kulem and then trek towards fall.

There are also day packages that provide you pick-up and drop facility from goa to the falls including visit to spice plantation, lunch, visit to old churches and jeep safari which cost around 1850 rs. Per person.

When to visit:

October to May

The falls are closed during rainy season.

The falls are worth visiting.
