One of my recent trips with an Aquarian re-instated my faith in all the Linda Goodman quotes I had ever read about them –Aquarians really do make the best travel buddies. While children make wishes on rainbows, artists paint them and dreamers chase them, an Aquarian is way ahead; he/she lives on a rainbow and even believes in it! There really could be no better co-traveller than someone who believes in magic. People belonging to the water sign are known to be sharp, intellectual, unpredictable and at the same time kind and tranquil. This means that Aquarians are the perfect combination of adventure and seriousness, you can take them anywhere and be sure of a great time!
Here are some places that you must go with an Aquarian:
Where: This is a tiny hamlet located at 10,000 ft in East Sikkim. Zuluk was once a transit point to the historic Silk Route from Tibet to India. With only about 700 inhabitants, this could be the perfect getaway you could visit with an Aquarian.
Why: With an Aquarian's calm yet adventurous nature, you would be able to explore this hidden gem and the majestic secrets that lie within Zuluk. Explore each corner of the village and experience it rather than just visiting it.
When: From August-October, Zuluk is blanketed in a riot of colours. With numerous wildflowers covering its pristine hills, Zuluk is a dream during this time. If you fancy snow, visiting between December-February could also be a great idea.
Where: Varkala Beach is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It's one of the unique beaches in India that provide breathtaking views of varied landscapes: cliffs, the golden beach sand and blue waves of the Arabian Sea.
Why: Being a water sign, Aquarians are most at home near a water-body. Naturally, you can expect to see the best version of them when at Varkala.
When: October-March is the perfect time to visit Varkala Beach because the weather is neither humid nor hot.
Where: A tiny place located near Almora in Uttarakhand, Kasar Devi is known for being the place where Bob Dylan wrote many of his songs.
Why: It goes without saying that the hills at Kasar Devi have an inspiring affect on creativity, and the Aquarian will positively respond to the hills' calming affect. Don't be surprised if the Aquarian runs around exploring the place, happy, satisfied and excited to be amidst the mountains.
When: Spring and summer are the best times to visit Kasar Devi since the hills are in full bloom and the weather conducive for tourists.
Where: This is a small town that is located 35km away from Dehradun. Along with Mussoorie, Landour is a hill-station that became famous in the British-Raj era. Complete with buildings of the colonial era, Landour is almost like mini-England right here in India.
Why: The gorgeous and tranquil surroundings of Landour are sure to excite an Aquarian. More importantly, Landour has been home to some of the greatest creative minds like Ruskin Bond, Tom Alter, Victor Banerjee and Vishal Bhardwaj. The town's rich heritage is sure to excite the Aquarian who yearns for intellectual inspiration.
When: Visit Landour in the winter season and experience magic as you see snow frosting over its mountains.
Where: Located in Malvan Taluka in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, Tarkarli Beach is a coral beach.
Why: This offbeat beach, is not known to many tourists and this is why an Aquarian will prefer it over crowded Goan beaches. If you're an Aquarian, do not miss the sunset at Tarkarli.
When: November-February is the best time to visit Tarkarli Beach as you can satiate the adventurer within you by snorkelling and scuba-diving.

Where: Located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, Munsiyari is a picturesque town with a 180 degree view of the Himalayan range.
Why: Known for various trekking trails, Munsiyari is a favourite destination among high-altitude trekkers. After all, it forms the base for Milam, Ralam and Namik glaciers. This is the ideal place for an extreme-adventure loving Aquarian.
When: March-May is the ideal time to visit Munsiyari, since it isn't excessively cold, but the Panchachuli Peaks are visible during this time.

Where: Located in Kumta Taluk district of Karnataka, Gokarna is the most sought-after offbeat beach destination in India today.
Why: Thatched bamboo houses lined along the beach is a Gokarna signature, an experience that no Aquarian can say no to. While the beaches offer revelry, the various temples at Gokarna provide a balance for the Aquarian who keeps faith in god. Gokarna is the ideal destination for an Aquarian.
When: Like most beaches, Gokarna should be on your calendar between October-March
Where: Located in Raigadh district of Maharashtra, Matheran, a hill-station can even top a trip to Lonavla.
Why: Declared an eco-sensitive region, Matheran is one of the few places in the world where vehicles are not allowed. This makes the hill-station one of the most special places in India. Needless to say, that it is a no-pollution quick getaway for Aquarians slacking in Mumbai.
When: Visit any time and Matheran will blow you away with its beauty. However, August-October is the time when Matheran hills will be covered in greenery.
