This is just an idea on how to do a bike trip to Mcleod Ganj, Dharamshala and Triund in just ₹6000/- for 2 people from Delhi, based on the trip we did in the month of November 2017.
Distance from Delhi to Mcleod Ganj is somewhere around 480Kms (From Uttam Nagar)
Total Cost:
Fuel ₹2000-2500 (If you are using a bike upto 150cc)
Hotel ₹2000 ( For two including Breakfast)
Stay at Triund in tent – ₹600
Food ₹1500-2000
Things you must carry:
Warm clothes
Biking gears for safety
Some snacks, juice and water for tracking
Power bank (as you may not find any electricity in triund)
A bluetooth speaker
A camera etc.

Sukhdev Dhaba (Murthal)
Bhagsu Temple/Bhagsu Waterfall
Dalai Lama Temple
Tibetan Museum
Cricket Stadium
Namgyal Monastery
Chintpurni Mandir
Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara
War Memorial Museum
Triund etc.
Day 1:
Start your journey early in the morning (at Around 4-5am) take GT Karnal road. Stop at the famous Sukhdev Da Dhaba for Tea and Parantha’s. Continue your journey from there at 6 AM and reach Anand Pur Sahib Gurudwara (250 Kms from Murthal) by 12 PM. Park you bike in the free parking available for devotees. Spend an hour there, have langar and continue your journey.
Try reaching war memorial by 5 PM (159kms from Anandpur Sahib). Spend an hour and continue your journey.
By 7 you will reach your hotel in Mcleodganj ( We prebooked from oyo app costed us ₹1000 for two with breakfast). Have dinner, give rest to your body.
Day 2:
Get ready, have breakfast and explore dharamshala and mcleod ganj on your bike.
Do shopping visit monasteries and temples and reach early in the evening to the hotel have dinner and get a good sleep.
Do buy some snacks or eatables for the next day.
Day 3:
Get up early, pack your bags and get ready for the tracking to Triund. You may start the tracking from McLeod ganj or ride the bike till Dharamkot and park the bike there. At the checkpoint give your details and continue your tracking (6 kms). Initial 3-4 kms are easy to do but last 2 kms will really test your strength. If you start your tracking by 8-9 am so you should reach Triund maximum by 10 or 11 AM (We completed the track in 2 hours). After reaching Triund, if you still don’t feel tired you may do a 2-hour tracking to Snowline as well but you would have to return to Triund for stay.

Book a tent for two with sleeping bags (blankets on request) enjoy the small bonfire in the night and for dinner you may get a Daal-Rice for ₹130/person (quantity and taste both was good).
Day 4:
Get up early at around 6 Am to see the beautiful sceneries while the sun rises. Leave from Triund by 8 and reach Dharamkot by 10 AM collect your bike and ride back to Mcleod ganj. Have breakfast and leave for Delhi.

On the way back you may visit Chintpurni temple. Also while going a back there’s a short cut which may cut short the distance by at least 20Kms. After crossing the river bridge there’s a left turn (which is not shown on the google maps) you may ask the locals there they will guide you to that route.
By 10 PM you will reach Delhi.
