How my solo trip turned into a fairytale romance

Tripoto
Day 4

I always wanted to travel solo but due to motion sickness n migraine attacks I was always refrained from doing so. However this time I convinced my husband to let me go to rishikesh for a short duration n with my utter stubbornness somehow he agreed.
So I set the ball rolling by booking my flight for to n fro dehradun n also booking my stay for 1night at a good hotel. The reason for booking only for a night was that I was so enthralled by my idea of doing everything possible what traveller's do as in discovering hidden places, booking cheapest deals on the spot n also exploring n then zeroing on a place to stay that I just thought of taking each step as it comes. It was a bad idea which I discovered after reaching there so please try this stunt at your own risk my piece of advice is to pre book everything in advance  however you can keep buffer of a couple of days to soothe your inner quest of adventure.
So after bidding adieu to my family i left for airport n after check in was waiting at the terminal to board i got a delicious surprise

my husband just was not comfortable yet to let me go alone n so without my knowledge he booked himself too for the same flight following me to my destination.
The surprise was totally unbelievable n at first I was shocked then happy n finally angry that yet my solo trip is pending.
Another surprise I received was that he canceled my booking in rishikesh n first book us to Mussoorie for Jw Marriott Walnut Grove.

Day 4

it was quite a beautiful stay in the queen of hills Mussoorie. That day we just explored the hotel property n then in the night started planning as what to do next as except air tickets we had practically booked nothing.
So then we finalized that we will hire a cab n explore Mussoorie n then decide a stay in mall road or else leave for rishikesh itself.
Pro tip.. For cabs alwz call on just dial, once you leave an enquiry with them after few minutes numerous car rental agencies will call you offering taxis at compatible rates.
So next day first we visited kempty Falls then walked through mall road then also explored a gurudwara n a nearby zoo. After roaming around till evening finally we decided that now there is not much to explore here so from booking. Com we booked our stay for gostops  hostel in laxmanjhula area of rishikesh for 3 nights and left for the ganges

we reached our hostel around 6.30 in the evening. The hostel was well located within proximity of Ganga ghat but the extreme steep slopes to reach the hostel with our suitcases in hand was quite challenging. had a smooth check in and immediately freshened up n left our room to explore cafes around S we were ravenously hungry. We went to freedom Cafe which is situated just on the banks of the river with stellar river view. After that we walked around laxman Jhula n crossed to tapovan area n then while returning attended a mini concert of singers singing on the banks of Ganga. Then we shifted our party at the rooftop of our hostel where we met lot of fellow travellers. Pro tip... This hostel is newly opened n it has insane views of the Ganga n laxman Jhula from its Terrace

next day with fellow travelers we left for rafting. They were only doing 16km as the water level was very high. Soon after that we reached our rooms freshened up had lunch n then set on foot to explore tajaji forest reserve n Beatles Ashram situated inside. It shuts entry post 5pm and entry charges are 150 rs pp.
After that we visited parmarth Niketan Ashram n then sat at the banks of the ashram in front of huge lord shiva statue to enjoy the arti.

next day we hired a bike from balaji travels which is situated just opposite taxi stand at laxman Jhula. Mr navi was very friendly n cooperative n guided us well. So we set on our scooty to explore Patna waterfall, try our hands at bungy jump n flying fox at jumping heights n then visit triveni ghat for Ganga arti. There are no boards indicating the location of Patna falls but you can ask direction from people collecting toll tax at the border of garudchatti outside rishikesh. It's a 1hour trek up n down to this serene falls. You need to pre-book your activities at jumping heights beforehand as during peak season n weekends it's fully blocked n they don't entertain walk ins. The triveni ghat arti is a sight to behold and a must see for every traveler visiting Rishikesh

next day we left for a camping site at shivpuri. They have lots of options for camping at riverside but we opted for camping at Nature's vault a beautiful camping site which has geodesic domes n unmatched mountain view with glamping facilities. They had projector for ipl finals n also live unplugged artist with delicious food. Had the most surreal experience glamping amidst the mountain

next day was weekend and thankfully day of our departure as pro tip... During peak season weekend avoid rishikesh as each n e ery single bed, hotel, activities, bikes, taxi, roads all are fully packed. We had tough time navigating our way back to airport as the roads were jam packed with tourists pouring in from all parts of the country. I returned back home in nick of time as the weather forecast post that was heavy rainfall because of which everything was shut down there ruining the weekend plans. We had lot of fun n beautiful memories. If anyone wants any info regarding the stay n travel connect with me.. Will be happy to help
