A whole lot of history, a little bit of culture, splashes of patriotism, a dash of spirituality and sprinkling of city life that is how I can sum up this circuit for me.Kept Gurgaon as base and enjoyed the city attractions that this concrete jungle had to offer and made a day trip to Agra and then headed for Amritsar for 2 days. I thought I would get disappointed by the Taj, but nope I think the sheer size of it captured me. The Agra fort made me realise the grandeur of the Mughal empire, Punjab made me feel patriotic and spiritual at the sametime.
Well! what can I say that hasnt already been said. Its a must one time visit, everyone should have it in their list
Its one of the biggest forts in the country and was the capital of Mughal empire, even if you are not a history buff, just go for the architecture and to witness the sheer magnitude in which the emperors lived.
The most sacred site for Sikhs and one of the most beautiful places of worship. Visit it during the evening and day, try and sit in one of the langar (meal), its peaceful inspite of so many pilgrims. You cannot visit Punjab and not go here.
This is basically a border gate between India and Pakistan and there is a closing and opening of gate ceremony done here by the border forces of both the countries. The whole ceremony seems a little theatrical but that does nothing to the whole environment of the place that is charged with patriotic emotions. Its something that cannot be described you have to be there among hundreds of people on both sides of the border to experience it.
If you are not a history buff you probably would not like this place. The history behind the places actually fills you with anger and humbles you at the scarifices made.
Well! its a good place if you want to try out the various cuisines offered by different states under one single roof. Its a nice place to go once if you are visiting the city for the first time
