Day 1

If you are interested in wildlife habitat and a historical story about the mythology of India then you must explore a hidden gem Bandhavgarh national forest which resided in the Madhya Pradesh.

History of Bandhavgarh is more than 2000 years old. Hills of this forest are mostly of sandstone in which we can find many men made caves.

One can reach bandhavgarh by the road or train by reaching to nearest station Umaria, anyhow in Bandhavgarh, you need to book a safari to explore core jungle areas, we reached directly by car and stayed there in a white tiger reserve hotel which is a decent resort in mid of jungle with a picturesque view.
It's almost noon, so we went directly to the booking office for our next day safari booking, remember you need to book prior one day for safari and there are 2 slots, one is morning 6 am and another is afternoon 2 pm, we choose to go for the morning slot. So after booking the ticket, we had relaxation time in resort with gourmet dinner and bonfire session as it was chilling Winter night.

Day 2

Early morning our trip started at 6 am, driver directly reached to our location with a guide, and we began to ride with tala zone, whole Bandhavgarh is divided into 3 zones for tourists in which tala is an important one. In mid of dense forest with a ray of sun and freezing climate our jeep first went to bandini Tiraha which is where tiger fa famous place where the tiger can be seen. And we were lucky enough to witness two male tigers who are resting there, it was a pleasant and spine chilling experience at the same time.
While doing safari drive we watched a number of natural and man-made caves in Bandhavgarh. As per local sources, there are about 39 caves in this national park, surrounding to the Bandhavgarh fort hill, in a radius of 5 km. The oldest caves appear to be as ancient as the first-century A.D.Badi gufa, the largest of the caves with a broad entrance, has nine small rooms and several pillars. It has been dated back to the 10th century AD. it is spacious and has adequate vertical room for a person of average height to stand and walk. It was an amazing experience with a glimpse of an ancient civilization of Indian culture.

our next place to visit was Bandhavgarh fort which means fort of brothers. As the fort is at the height of 811 meters of height, approaching road is steep with sharp turning points. As the safari jeep enters a narrow ancient gate called Karn Pol and takes left turn, we will notice that the old structures and forest have been into each other.  Here we can find man-made caves that were used as a horse stable, guard room,  justice court etc. Dark areas of such caves become the abode of bats. We spent some time watching the fort then we headed toward an important historical place known as shesh shaiya. It is a 35 Feet long statue of Lord Vishnu, Sheshnaag & Shiva Linga. All this is carved out of single sand-stone. During the rule of Kalchuri dynasty, in the 10th century. Here at Sheshsaiya we can find statue of Lord Vishnu, sleeping under the shade of 7-hooded serpent called Sheshnaag and his bed was floats-coil of same snake-king.
