While flight routes for Jaisalmer open every year during the winter due to tourism which continues till the onset of summer, similarly other desired destinations have also been added that usually witnesses heavy tourism ingress during winter months.
Passenger traffic at Jaipur Airport has been gaining considerable momentum since last year which can be concluded from the 26.6% increase in passenger footfall between April to July this year as compared to last year. The travel by around 17.36 lakh passengers during this period through Jaipur airport owes to vacation breaks, leisure travels and definitely improved connectivity that allows travellers to visit their desired destination.
Currently Jaipur Airport caters to 23 cities through direct connectivity and the rest are connecting flights. Since Rajasthan is a belt that hosts a lot of festivals, conference and tourism activities and Jaipur is its main seat, it is natural and profitable as concurred by the travel trend that introducing direct connectivity to the abovementioned cities will enhance tourism in this region and also help in local economy.
