Indian travellers are in the primary focus of the South African Tourism Board as the country decides to offer them e-visa facilities. The motive is to lure more business travellers, tourists, and moviemakers into South Africa.

The rules for applying e-visa

As per the South African Tourism Board, travellers from India need to provide a negative RT-PCR test. It should be not older than 72 hours from the time of departure.

Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, the South African tourism minister, stated that the online South African visa application portal will be soon rolled out in India.

The key reasons behind the introduction of e-visa

India is the eighth largest international source market for South Africa. The South African Tourism Board is expecting almost 64% Year-on-Year growth on the visits of Indian travellers.
