Though we had planned the trip on weekend but we actually went on a weekday as loads of people thronged Himachal Pradesh on last weekend after the HP borders opened without any Covid restrictions.
Our destination was GIRIPUL in Distt Sirmour which is 90 kms from Chandigarh. One needs to take a turn from Kumarhatti and drive for 40 kms towards Yashwant Nagar via Ochaghat to reach Giripul which is a bridge over Giri river and as such the name Giripul. The road on the way was smooth just the last stretch of few kms was like off roading
The river flows between the hills making it very picturesque and a perfect place for a picnic. We had our lunch spread on a bed sheet on the green grass with the sound of water as background music. The cool breeze and intermittent clouds erased all the lowlyness accumulated in the lockdown.
A perfect place for one day trip.
