India has more than 1000 discovered Forts which are more than 300-400 years old and some are even more older, Most of the Forts are found in Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Hereby presenting some memories of myself in various forts of Southern and Western India.
1. BANGALORE FORT, Bengaluru - Karnataka
Located in the K.R.Market area of Bangalore it is an old fort built in the year 1537 by Kempe Gowda I and Later Captured by Hyder Ali, now controlled by Archeological Survey of India.

2. CHITRADURGA FORT, Chitradurga - Karnataka
Located 260 Km away from Bengaluru City towards Hubli on NH48, Chitradurga Fort is Located in Heart of Chitradurga Town. Built in the 18th Century by the Empire of Vijayanagara and Later Captured by Hyder Ali. Now the fort is Controlled by Karnataka Government.

3. VELLORE FORT, Vellore - Tamilnadu
Located in the heart of the Vellore City, it was built in the Year of 1566 by the Empire of Vijayanagara. Now it is controlled by the Archeological Survey of India.

4. MADIKERI FORT, Coorg - Karnataka
Located 115 Km away from Mysore and 250 Km from Bangalore this fort is Located in the heart of Kodagu City (formerly known as Coorg) & was built in 17th Century, Madikeri Fort was also known as Mercara Fort and It was Captured by Tipu Sultan, it is now controlled by the Government of Karnataka.

5. VATTAKOTTAI FORT, Kanyakumari - Tamilnadu
Located 10 Km away from Kanyakumari City, Vattakottai Fort is built in 18th Century by the Empire of the Travancore Kingdom and Later Captured by British Empire, This is situated in the seashore of Vattakottai Beach inside the Village. Visitors will get an awesome view of Both hills and sea from the fort. Now controlled by Indian Archeological Department.

6. ST. ANGELO'S FORT, Kannur - Kerala

7. DAULATABAD FORT, Aurangabad - Maharashtra
Located 16Km away from the Aurangabad City, Daulatabad Fort is one of the Oldest fort in India and also known as Devagiri. This fort was founded in the year 1187 by Yadava Dynasty and later Captured by Muhammad Bin Tughlaq.

9. CABO-DE-RAMA FORT, Canacona - Goa South
This fort is captured by Portuguese in the year 1760 after defeating the King of Soonda, Later, this fort was became a government prison till 1955 & was abandoned again.

10. HARIHAR FORT, Nashik - Maharashtra
Located 40 Km away from the Nashik City, Harihar Fort was in the height of 3676 ft. & famous for its peculiar rock cut steps and it is also known as Hill Fort. You have to climb to get into the top of the Fort & it will give you a thriller experience.
