Enchanting North East Part II

We arrived at Guwahati airport and started our journey towards Shillong - The capital of Meghalaya. Enroute we visited beautiful Umiam lake and enjoyed a boat ride in lake.

We explored Mawlynnog village, awarded as 'Cleanliest Village in Asia'. Visited balancing rock point, had a enchanted hiking at the 'Living root bridge' which is century old nature made bridge made from the entangled roots. Later we visited the Indo-Bangladesh border and Dawki river. PS - Dont miss the yummy chicken curry / egg curry served at Mawlynnog Village by locals.

We visited Shillong peak and Elephant falls and started our journey to Cherrapunjee - One of the wettest place on earth. We visited Ram Krishna Mission, Mawsami Caves, Seven sister waterfall and most amazing Nohkalikai fall - the tallest plunge waterfall in India. (Must visit)

Today we proceeded for our journey to Kaziranga National Park from Shillong. We visited Cathedral of Mary before leaving Shillong.

We experience a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. Its famous for its one horned rhino, Elephants, Deer's and rare migratory birds. In the evening we enjoyed a spectacular Bihu dance - an indigenous folk dance of Assam.

Today we proceeded to Guwahati our last destination of the trip. Upon arrival we visited Kamakhya temple - One of the 51 shaktipeeth of India and Umananda temple situated on the small island in middle of Brahmaputra river. We had a small ferry ride in Brahmaputra river.

It was our last day in Guwahati, before heading for Mumbai we well spend this day by doing some local shopping.
