Diu - A place to improve your weekend!

Sometimes even we don't know the plan for weekend but at the end it made automatically and made so great!! Talking about one day trip or weekend trip is must not be so expensive and not so far. For all the Gujarati who loves to drink, Diu is haven for them!!! (As alcohol is ban in Gujarat). So let me get you to the point, it's all about history and nature. Diu is developed and found by Portuguese. Yes! Diu city is older than British raj, history said that there was a battle for diu done by Portuguese. After so many bad circumstances Portuguese are managed to build the fort of diu and church. I don't know the main history but for current time I can say that diu is very beautiful city with awesome beach! It is 85 km away from somnath mahadev temple, one can reach there by air as diu has domestic airport. Nagoa beach is the main attraction of diu, as all the people come hear for that only!! Nagoa beach is around 7 km away from the city. Nadia caves is another great location to visit, that caves are made by the heavy flow of water and rain. It was 7 o'clock in the morning and I was driving my uncle's car, we were heading to diu from veraval. The road was good one can drive very good but do care about local people they come on the roads anytime with their vehicles!!! Driving was fun and we reached diu by 8:45 am. That was cold morning in sunny day! Before everything we went to the nagoa beach and enjoyed beach side with coffee!! (I should drink beer at that time but as I have to drive backed to Gujarat where alcohol is ban!!) By noon we had veg biryani,at dhaba which exactly on nagoa beach. Test was wonderful and delicious, if you are vegetarian and looking for good food you must visit that place when you visit diu. By 1 o'clock we headed to the nadia caves. Nadia caves were amazing and it is for all the adventure junkie, as it is near to forest so you should be careful for wild animals. We spent almost a day there and by 6 o'clock we were on our way to veraval. Diu is around 90 km from veraval, as I mentioned that it was the one day trip to diu, so one can make their weekend delightful with one day trip!!! You can go with family and enjoy yourself at nagoa beach, if you love history than you can go with diu fort and if you love adventure then go for Nadia caves!!! In short diu is full package for everyone. Diu fort is well build by Portuguese but it wasn't maintained by our government so please do not go with a lot of expectations. You can go to diu at Saturday and can come back to your home by Sunday evening!! So if you want to see something new then must try this place being a traveler we love to explore new place weather it is good or not!!!
