It is the only year in our lifetimes that none of us has traveled to the hills of Himachal in the summers. While a lot of us are craving to travel there, we're still unsure due to the COVID situation. No worries, if you are from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, or Gujarat, then here is a list of hills stations in these states for a getaway.

1. Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh

Pachmarhi, also known as Queen of Satpura, is a hill station settled at an elevation of 3501 ft in the Hoshangabad district. The highest peak of Madhya Pradesh is situated here at an elevation of 4430 ft named Dhupgarh.

It is also famous for Pandavas Caves, Jata Shankar Caves, Mahadeo Hill, Chauragarh Temple, Gupt Mahadev Temple, Christ Church, Bee Falls, Duchess Falls, Handi Khoh, Priyadarshini Point, Reechgarh, and Satpura National Park.

2. Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh

Amarkantak, a Hindu pilgrim town, is located at a height of 3438 ft in the Anuppur district. It is the starting point of the Narmada River, the Son River, and the Johila River. The ancient temples of Kalachuri, built by Kalachuri Maharaja Karnadeva, are located here. The first waterfall of the Narmada river is nestled here called the Kapil Dhara.

It is also famous for Narmadakund, Sonemuda, Trimukhi Temple, Sonakshi Shaktipeeth Temple, Shri Jwaleshwar Mahadev, Shri Sarvodaya Digambar Jain Temple, Kabir Chabutra.

3. Mandu, Madhya Pradesh

Mandu, also known as Mandavgad, is situated at an elevation of 2079 ft in the Dhar district. Mandu holds its charm for the ancient palaces and religious places including Jahaz Mahal, Rani Rupmati's Pavilion, Baz Bahadur's Palace, Jami Masjid, Hindola Mahal, Ashrafi Mahal, Hoshang's Tomb, and Jain Temple.

4. Tamia, Madhya Pradesh

Tamia, nestled at an elevation of 3765 ft, lies in the Chhindwara district. It is a picturesque forest destination that offers scenic and breath-taking views of dense forests and mountains.

It is famous for the Patalkot Valley, Tribal Museum, British-era Houses, and Postal Bungalow.

5. Mount Abu, Rajasthan

Mount Abu is a well-situated hill station at an elevation of 4003 ft in the Sirohi district, offering a picturesque view of the Aravali Range. It is home to the highest peak of the state at an elevation of 5650 ft, called Guru Shikhar.

The town is also famous for the Nakki Lake, Dilwara Jain Temples, Arbuda Devi Temple, Trevor's Tank, Toad Rock, Brahma Kumaris Ashram, Sunset Point, and Mall Road.

6. Sajjangarh Palace, Rajasthan

Sajjangarh Palace, also known as Monsoon Palace, is situated at an elevation of 3100 ft in Udaipur. The palace was built by the Maharana Sajjan Singh of Mewar Dynasty in the year 1884. The hilltop offers a panoramic view of the city & the surrounding area. It is also famous for the beautiful view of the sunset.

7. Saputara, Gujarat

Saputara is a hill station located in the Sahyadris at an elevation of 3000 ft in Dang district. The Saputara Lake rests in the middle of the town, which also offers the boating activity. One can also enjoy a ropeway ride to the sunset point.

The town is also famous for the Echo Point, Saputara Museum, Sunrise Point, Nageshwar Mahadev Temple, Lake Garden, Rose Garden, Saputara Adventure Par, Step Garden, and Honey Bee Centre.

8. Don, Gujarat

Don is a small hill station at an elevation of 3000 ft and second reputed hill station after Saputara. It is located at a distance of 55km from Saputara in the Dang district. Though the town doesn't have many amenities or stay options, people feel like being in nature's lap after reaching there.

9. Wilson Hills, Gujarat

Wilson Hills is a small hill station at the height of 2215 ft in the Valsad district. It is one of the few hill stations in the world which are blessed from where there's a possibility of sight of the sea. The famous “chhatri” made of marbles is the prime attraction of this place.

It is also famous for the Steep Valley Point, Ozone Valley Point, Sunrise & Sunset Points, Barumal Shiva Temple, Wilson Hills Museum, and Bilpudi Twin Waterfalls.

10. Pavagadh, Gujarat

Pavagadh is situated at an elevation of 2600 ft with the historical city of Champaner at its base in the Panchmahal district. Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the starting point of the Dhadhar River, and the Vishwamitri River. It can only be traveled by registered buses and government vehicles from the base. From the point where the road ends, one can reach on top on foot or by ropeway. The hill is famous for the Pavagadh Fort, and the Kalika Mata Temple.
