Ticket Distribution and Regulations: Inclusivity and Heritage Protection:

Since January of this year, a total of 8,026 tickets have been issued to both islanders and non-islanders, granting them access to Campbell Bay. Out of the total tickets issued, a significant portion of 7,316 were allocated to islanders, while 710 tickets were granted to non-islanders. This distribution reflects the government's commitment to ensuring that both local inhabitants and visitors from outside the region can partake in the unique experience that Campbell Bay has to offer.

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai emphasised that the movement of individuals within the Great Nicobar Island is closely regulated by a framework of laws and rules. One such critical regulation is the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Protection of Aboriginal Tribes) Regulation of 1956. This regulation serves as a protective measure for the indigenous tribes that call this island home, preserving their unique heritage and way of life.
