Choma Kund is a valley in North Kodagu near the famous Chelavara Falls. It is about 22Kms from Virajpet town. It is also called as Somana Kadu. This is adjacent to the Thadiyandamol which is the highest peak in Kodagu. It lies on the border between Karnataka and Kerala in the districts of Kodagu and Kannur. This hill range is only two kilometers away from the Chelavara falls. The entire valley is replete with fog that seems to never dissipate. Chomakund is magnificently wet, dewey and wonderful all through the year. No matter what your prior trekking experience or age, this could be a trek for anybody. This trail begins at the base of the hill. It takes about two hours to ascend and descend the valley. Since the place is very slippery proper trekking shoes is recommended for this trek. Watch out for leeches. Elephants can be spotted if one is lucky.

While here, do not forget to make the trek to Sunset Point. View from the top of Chomakund is beyond imagination. Hope the above pictures can help you to decide if you can accommodate these places on your next visit to Coorg.
