Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains. A long cable car links Auli to the town of Joshimath. North of Auli are the colorful Badrinath Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the Valley of Flowers National Park, with its alpine flora and wildlife like snow leopards and red foxes.

It is located at an elevation of 2800 metres above sea levels and is the home to mountain ranges of Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, and Kamat Kamet. Auli has a variety of accommodation facilities that cater to travellers having a different budget.

Places to Visit in Auli:

Day 1

1) Kwani Bugyal- Kwani Bugyal is a very famous destination amongst the community poof trekkers. It is the start point of many treks and is best to visit in the months between June to September. It is at an elevation of 3380 metres above sea level.

Kwani Bugyal is a famous meadow known for untouched beauty of Himalayas. Along with splendid views of snow capped mountains views, Kwani Bugyal is a trekkers heaven as its trekking route of 13 kms from Auli is easy and full of panoramic views. At an height of 3380 mtrs, Kwani Bugyal is amazing place to watch the magnificient mountains like Mt. Nandadevi, Mt. Dunagiri from very close.

Day 2

2) Gurso Buyal- Gurso Bugyal is perched at an elevation of 3380 metres above sea level and is a picturesque location. You can view distant places like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Dron from this point that is accessible after a short 3 km trek from Auli. Visitors often choose to trek further to Chattar Kund which is just one km away.

Day 3

3) Gurso Buyal- Auli has always been a popular spot for Skiing in India and is rated as the best ground in the world by the Paramilitary forces of French and Austrian experts. Joshimath is the base village for skiing in Auli and the highest Altitude for skiing here is 11000 feet.

4) Trishul Peak- Three Himalayan mountain peaks of western Kumaun as a whole form the Trishul peak. This southwest corner of the ring of peaks encloses the Nanda Devi Sanctuary and can be best viewed from Kausani or during Roopkund Trek. Here, in the months of September, October and November, the climate is pleasant and very clear making it a suitable time to visit.

How to Reach From Delhi:

By Rail: Regular trains are available from New Delhi to Rishikesh which is the nearest railway station. Further, travellers can get buses or cabs to Joshimath. From Joshimath, you can take a bus or ride on Asia's longest cable car ride to Auli.

By Bus: There are no direct connecting buses between Delhi to Auli

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Auli at a distance of 286 km.Taxis are available from the airport to Auli
