Embarking on a road trip from Bangalore to Kanpur was not just a journey; it was an adventure of a lifetime. With my trusty companion, my 2.5-year-old toddler, strapped safely in the backseat, and our rugged Force Gurkha ready to conquer the miles ahead, we set out on this unforgettable expedition.

Day one

Marked the beginning of our epic road odyssey. We bid farewell to the bustling streets of Bangalore, eagerly anticipating the scenic vistas and cultural tapestry awaiting us. Covering a staggering distance of 1100 kilometers, our first leg culminated in Nagpur. The smooth highways, punctuated by occasional pit stops for refreshments and stretching our legs, made the journey remarkably comfortable.

Roads of this stretch is butter smooth except few patches in Madhya Pradesh. Entire route is filled with highways restaurants and petrol stations. For breakfast you can plan to stop at Big Bay which is approx 90 kms to from Bangalore, however if you are leaving super early from then you can have breakfast in Anantapur just after KIA car factory. You should be careful while driving in Madhya Pradesh as lots of stray animals like Cow, Buffalo and Dogs frequently comes on the middle of road. For dinner you can stop at Rajasthani Sharma Pure Vegetarian Dhaba which is approx 100kms before Adilabad. I have out the google map location you can follow. They cook everything on wood and they address special request for kids food. You can watch it on my YouTube channel.

Make sure you book your stay before hand since it will be little late. We stayed in Hotel Aavas In which was decent at it's price and location. Lots of small eateries near by if you want to have quick breakfast. I have out the Google map link you can have a check. More review you can watch my YouTube video.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the landscape, we found ourselves in the heart of Nagpur, a city pulsating with energy and charm. After a restful night's sleep, we geared up for the second leg of our expedition – the 750-kilometer stretch to our final destination, Kanpur.

Day Two

With each passing kilometer, the landscape transformed, offering a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds that mesmerized both young and old alike. The lush greenery of central India gradually gave way to the rustic charm of Uttar Pradesh as we approached our destination. Along the way, we marveled at the diversity of India – from bustling cities to quaint villages, from verdant fields to arid plains.

One of the highlights of day two of our journey was hospitality of people in Madhya Pradesh. Road are good however the truck traffic will be more on Nagpur to Kanpur route. Try to start early an if possible take less break because once you are in Chitrakoot you have to cross the ghat section Chitrakoot forest and it will be dark. There is a new highway constructed just after Chitrakoot which is Bundelkhand Expressway which will give you a good speed. Make sure you don't follow Google and leave the expressway at Banda exit not on Punahur exit. Because from Punahur road is single lane and loaded with heavy truck traffic.

In retrospect, our road trip from Bangalore to Kanpur was more than just a physical journey; it was a voyage of discovery, bonding, and adventure. And as we unpacked our bags and reminisced about the countless moments we shared on the road, we knew that this was just the beginning of many more adventures to come.

Bon voyage!
