In mid June 2019. Visited Amritsar and fell in love with the city right after. The main reason visiting Amritsar was to seek blessings from The divine Golden Temple and visiting Wagah border.

Golden temple is located at atta Mandi,Katra Ahluwalia, Amritsar. It is a beauty in itself and the most holy site to attain peace. It took around 8years to build the temple. It was built for sikhs to worship Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji,the Eternal Guru of Sikhs. Built in 1577, the temples dome Is gilded with 750kg of gold. Surrounded by marbles all around.

Before entering one has to cover his or her head with cloth as a ritual. And wash his/her feet by walking through the pools. It is said that on a normal day, more than 50,000-60,000 people eat langar at Golden Temple, and during religious gatherings, the number may spike up to 100,000. 4. The meals are simple and vegetarian, with a usual serving of pickle, rotis (bread), dal (lentils), and kheer (rice pudding).

Timings are 12pm-2pm and 7pm-9pm.

You can easily reach Amritsar by Air(Sri Guru ramdas Jee International Airport)

By train ( Amritsar junction railway station) and by road(convenient taxis and buses are available)
