Type: Group, Budget Trip (Economic)

Mode of Transport: Public

Train:  Starting City @Chennai to @Rameswaram

Since no direct trains to DhanushKodi

Bus: Cost Effective one, (hiring share Autos are costly there)

Stay: since we booked trains, we had the privilege of booking resting rooms in Station itself which made our travel budget so low. We spent 250/per room which can comfort 2 people. Rooms are decent and restrooms at stays too are decent.

In this Trip main places we covered,

1. Paamban Rail Bridge

2. Doordharshan Tower

3. Dhanush Kodi, Arichal Point

4. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Place

5. Paamban Road Bridge View

Paamban Rail Bridge:

The welcoming part of Rameswaram Island will will be the Paamban rail bridge Which connects Indian mainland and Paamban/Rameswaram Island, view from the train on the bridge which will make us stunned and thrilled too while traveling through that. It's amazing to see the 2.0 km bridge constructed in 1911 time itself in the sea to connect both the sides with lifting spans to allow the ships travel through the bridge is an amazing view. Refer the cover picture :)

We reached around 8:30 am at Rameshwaram Station and stalled our packings in room which is very cheap for solo or group travellers. For Family people AC rooms also available but didn't checked those, sorry.

2. Doordharshan Tower:

From the Railway Station entrance you can view a  Large standing free tower "Rameswaram TV Tower" which was built in 1995. Standing at 323 metres (1,060 ft),[1] it is the tower is used by Doordharshan for television broadcasting to feed 90's kids ShakthiMaan :) The main structure is made of reinforced cement  and the mast is made of steel. You can view the pictures in the album.

We decided to go with Public Transport, as it is more cheap and best if you are clear about the plan for the day. Else, the Local private Transport people mainly share auto people will eat our wallets, alert

3. Dhanush Kodi, Arichal Point

Near by Railway station you will get frequent buses to DK Which will take 1 hour to reach. You can view the olden, ripped Buildings by 1864 Tsunami and also a very famous temple where Rama performed the "Pattabhishekam" (ascension to king of Lanka) for Vibhishana at this place, you can see the story as wall painting over there.

Here comes the most interesting place "Arichal Point" where Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean merged, the land of India ends or starts from South East. Government took efforts to bring back the place after 1964, Tsunami. Both the sides of road will make you stunned. 1 side of beach will always stay silent and give you a Lovely feel like a women where another side you can see a manly shrugged waves which will give more serenity. We missed to be there at early Mornings, try that.

It will take 2-3 hours to spend time, Garudas and other birds will be there in high no's which will give pleasant view.

Food taste and cost will be average. We picked share auto (public) from there to memorial place.  2o rs/head.

4. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial:

Free entry. Mobiles are not allowed, we instructed to switch off Our mobiles and Keep our laptop/dslr bags at our own risks, they won't allow that too. It was a weekend so lots of people visited on that time, close to 4k people until noon. You feel more positive and motivated when you walk through the memorial home. Statutes will give a real feel our beloved wings of fire is always with us. It will make you humble. You need minimum 1 hour to visit.

5. Paamban Road Bridge View:

The view from the Road Bridge will immerse us virtually into the sea. If you get an opportunity to see the train/ship crossing by the time you are blessed. You can view the Arabian sea passing its colours competing with the sky...
