Andaman and Nicobar Islands - A tropical paradise of India, which puts all the famous international tropical locations to shame. The Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal, has it all from white-sand beaches to the greatest underwater biodiversity housing corals and sea dwellers to tropical rainforests, making it the perfect vacation destination.
But to visit this paradise, the only fastest option is travelling by air because it's in the middle of the ocean. So, if you are in doubt about how to travel by air to the Andaman Islands, here's the perfect guide for you!
The only airport in Andaman is situated in the capital city, Port Blair, which makes your entry to the beautiful land of Andaman. Also called Port Blair Airport, the airport is an Indian Navy/Coast Guard air base, it is connected to major cities in India.

So, if you fly from any other country, you'll have to take a connecting flight from any of the major cities in India. The Port Blair airport is also used by international travelers as a pitstop for private jets which are traveling to other South East Asian countries like Singapore and Vietnam.

Important things to note:
Andaman has some of the most beautiful marine life with rare flora and fauna, hence the government is quite strict about that. Some of the things that you should keep in mind while travelling:
1. Do not take any shells, corals or any marine species while going back to your location. The bags get scanned, and you can even be fined if you are caught carrying any coral. Also, the authorities will not let you take any shell with you and you'll have to hand it over.
2. In case you have purchased any shell or coral material, do carry a receipt because you'll only be allowed to take those items with you once you show the receipts to the authorities.
3. Since the Port Blair airport is a defense airport, photography is strictly prohibited inside. Hold yourself to take any picture inside, and only take out the camera to capture Andaman's beauty outside.
4. Unlike other airports, there isn't much to eat, so carry refreshments with you.
