A weekend trip to beautiful Kasauli in HP.

In Feb 2021 we were in Chandigarh and we decided to undertake a short weekend trip to Kasauli, a beautiful hill station on Chandigarh - Shimla route.

We booked our tickets in the iconic Kalka-Shimla Toy Train (UNESCO World Heritage Mountain Railways) from Kamla to Dharampur for Saturday morning and travelled from Kalka by this toy train passing through nearly 55 tunnels upto Dharampur in about 2 hours. It was a wonderful journey with excellent scenic beauty enroute.

We had already booked a cab from Chandigarh itself which dropped us first at Kalka Station and later picked us up from Dharampur railway station after 2 hours, it took just 40 minutes to reach the resort in Kasauli which was booked online.

The resort was located in a beautiful location with an excellent view of Shivalik Hills and a lot of greenery around. Post lunch, we spent our time on Mall Road Kasauli and visited nearby tourists places.

In the evening a party was organised by the resort with bonfire and DJ for the tourists and we all enjoyed the same dancing and snacking in the outdoor lawn of resort in a chilling winter night for about 2 hours.

Next day morning (Sunday), we enjoyed the breathtaking views of clouds on the hills from the room balcony sipping the hot tea. Later after breakfast, we took a jungle trek of about 2 km uphill and enjoyed flora & fauna around the hilly Track. It was a beautiful experience, we also saw many bird species on the way.

Post lunch, we started back to Chandigarh by the same Cab reaching home in about 2 hours.

It was an excellent short trip to beautiful Kasauli.
