We make number of Travel plans with our friends , some works some doesn't
But it hurts when proper planned trip doesn't works, when everything is booked train tickets, flights, hotel, cabs and there are no any chance of anyone backing out , but because of some other reason plan get cancel
Same thing happened to us , we were group of six girls who had planned to explore Wayanand-Ooty-Coonor in August, we had to board a train Kerala S Kranti as we were going to explore Wayanand first on 10th August 2019
I got a message from IRCTC on 9th August due to heavy rain and Flood in Kerala our train got cancelled, we were clueless about what to do next after discussing with everyone we decided we have to go somewhere and not to spoil our mood
Number of destinations came in our mind like Chattisgarh,Darjeeling,Ujjain and then finally we decided to explore Amritsar
So next day morning 10 August we booked our Tickets in Waiting List of Golden Temple Amritsar with all hopes that our seats should get confirm and yes it got confirmed
On 10th August 2019 at around 9.56pm we boarded our train from Borivali it's 32 hours journey
We reached on 12 August morning 5.30 am At Amritsar, we had booked a Cab from Jass Travels to Explore Amritsar as well as Dharamshala and Dalhousie
Our Cab cost for 3 day tour was Rs 13400
Dalhousie and Dharamshala is 4hours journey from Amritsar , ours was end moment planned so we had only 1 night stay in Dalhousie and 1 night stay in Dharamshala
But I would recommend to have atleast 2 night stay in Dalhousie and 2 night stay in Dharamshala
As we reached Amritsar our driver Jagjit Ji was on time , we reached golden temple by 6am got freshenup there and explored Golden temple
It took us around 1 hour for darshan , there is seperate queues for Mens and Womens
Kindness is best form of humanity which we experienced in this temple ,After Darshan we headed towards the langar hall where more than 100 volunteers we working , food served to us was tasty and fresh
After having tasty lunch and experiencing a positive vibes from temple we headed to our next destination Dalhousie , we decided to explore Jalianwala baug and Wagha border while returning from Dharamshala as after Dalhousie we were going to explore Dharamshala
Journey from Amritsar to Dalhousie is amazing ,it's like through city you are entering in Mountains
Himachal is love for me ,this was the third time I was visiting Himachal that to unexpected
I can visit Himachal every year, Mountains has different vibes ,vibes of positivity, tranquility, love, peace
We had booked our stay in Zostel which is at amazing location and the view is breathtaking , we reached in evening at around 6 pm
Zostel is best for solo travelers and Backpackers
so next day we headed to Khajjar , which is a beautiful hill station in Dalhousie,it's also known as Mini Switzerland
Khajjar is surrounded with forest, animals ,lakes We almost spent 2 hours here , you can also do paragriding or trekking here
After exploring Khajjar our next destination was Dharamshala which is again 4 hours journey
I know our plan would sound very hectic but as I said it was last moment plan and we wanted to make it work anyhow You won't get bored in journey from Dalhousie to Dharamshala As it's a roller coaster journey through ghats
We had booked our stay in Hostel La vie which is again at beautiful location
We reached there late and their dinner time were closed ,but they managed to make Maggi and omlete for us
Next day early morning we headed to explore Dharamshala, this was our last day as we had a train night 9.45 pm from Amritsar.
Dharamshala is all about Cafe's , Monasteries, temples, Waterfall,Tibetan locality
I would recommend to stay atleast 2-3 nights in Dharamshala as there is so much to explore
I would definitely visit Dharamshala again for 2-3 days
We had to skip Wagha border due to time constraints but managed to do some shopping and visited Jalianwala Baug
Jalianwala baug massacre is our sad history , on 13 April 1919 Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire their rifles into a crowd of unarmed civilians in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab, killing at least 400, including 41 children, one only six weeks old. Over 1,000 were injured.
We visited Golden temple to have a night view of it
Night view of Golden temple is magnificent
The best part of traveling is meeting amazing and helpful people , learning different cultures, exploring new places, like we met our Driver Jagitji
I would recommend him to everyone who is going to explore Amritsar and Himachal
Though our trip was hectic but he patiently managed everything, helped us in shopping , recommended us some good shops in Amritsar
Also he made sure we should not miss our train and dropped us at Station before time
So our trip got ended successfully, this trip would be always memorable for us as we had never thought a planned trip to Ooty would land us to Amritsar😊😍
