The Andaman Islands form an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. There are roughly 300 islands. One can find white sand exotic beaches, mangroves, coral reefs here. Sunbathing, scuba diving, seawalk, snorkeling, watersports, swimming, watching the sunset or sunrise, kayaking are some of the activities one can enjoy in Andaman.

We reached Port Blair (The Capital of the Union Territory Andaman and Nicobar Island) in the afternoon on the first week of April. It was a sunny and hot day. We stayed with Swarajdeep travels [http://andamanswarajdeeptravels.com/index.php]. After having some rest we went for an evening walk at Aberdeen Jetty in Port Blair. It was a wonderful evening with fully of life at the jetty. After the sun set we went for light and sound show at the famous Cellular Jail. The show is of one hour duration and is mesmerizing. One must not miss this. After the show, spectators come out with a heavy heart learning about the tortures made on Indian prisoners by the British.
We started in the morning [8am] from Phoenix Bay Jetty by Makruzz [http://www.makruzz.com/site/] for Havelock Island. Its a 1 and a half hour journey from Port Blair to Havelock island by Makruzz. We stayed at Eldorado Beach Resort in Havelock Island. This resort has cottage guest houses, an exotic restaurant and a private beach with a superb view. The best way to spend the evening in Havelock island is to go to the world famous Radhanagar beach and chill there till sunset.
We started our day after breakfast at Havelock island. Again we availed the Makruzz from Havelock island jetty and traveled to Neil island. This time the journey is of 1 hour. Neil is a tiny but beautiful island located 37 Kms. to the south of the Andaman Islands. With unexplored coral reefs, brilliant bio-diversity, white sandy beaches and tropical forest and vegetation, it is one of the hot tourist spots in the Andamans.
We stayed at Deep Sea resort in Neil Island. In the afternoon we went out to see natural rock formation in Laxmanpur beach.
In the evening we waved goodbye to the setting sun from Laxmanpur beach.
The morning started with a leisure time spent at the Bharatpur beach of Neil island. One can have a treat to his eyes at this beach. There are ample opportunities for different activities at this beach like snorkeling, scuba diving, glass boat ride, banana ride, speed boat ride etc. Also, one can sit for hours and can overlook the sea.
At around 12PM we availed the Makruzz from Neil Island and traveled back to Port Blair. The duration of the journey was 1 hour 15 minutes.
A good one close to Port Blair. Evening is the best time to visit. Has activities like water scooter, speed jet. Good place to just loaf around.
Mount Harriet National Park is a beautiful place in the uphill. On the way to this park from Port Blair one can get the view which is available on the back of 20 rupee Indian note. View from the top of watch tower of this park is excellent. A half day tour to this national park is sufficient.
After completion of the tour to Mount Harriet National Park we were back to Port Blair by the car which we hired. Then after having lunch we proceeded for the famous Cellular jail. The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The prison was used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago. The jail is now open to public viewing as a National Memorial, and its museum gives one a glimpse of years of India’s struggle for freedom. Imminent freedom fighter like Veer Savarkar being imprisoned in this jail.
The Ross island is situated 3 km east from downtown Port Blair. The historic ruins are a tourist attraction. One can go there in the afternoon and can stay back till evening for the light and sound show.
Rabbit, Deer, peacock are most commonly seen there.
One of the most pretty and clean beaches of Andaman is the Wandoor beach. It is located at a distance of around 25KM from Port Blair. The blue water and a nice view, this beach is a photographer's paradise. And coconut water is a must here!
The island of Chidiya Tapu is only 20 kms away from Port Blair and you can cover this distance quite easily by road. This place is famous for sunset view and for bird watching.This is loved by nature lovers.
On the last day of our trip we spent in leisure. In the evening we had our flight back home. One can utilize the morning for local shopping like buying souvenirs etc.
In a way, The Andaman is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places of the world. I think you are going to fall, in love with this place!
