Somewhere between the border of Tamilnadu and Kerala lies a beautiful lanscape which makes you believe in magical reality.Pollachi and the area around it is abundant in pristine nature and local handmade weaves and handicrafts. It is a perfect destination for solo travelers, couples and families with children. There is so much activity for anyone interested in wildlife photography, heritage home stay or learning local handicraft making. This place makes you truly wonder that how it can be magical and realistic.
I was particularly happy to visit the small weaving community in Negamam and witness the colorful yarn get converted into fabric. It was lovely to meet this small community of weavers takie so much interest in their craft. They entertained us into their house with so much love and their attitude towards life and contentment towards their craft left a lasting impression on me.These are the travel memories which always make me wanderlust forv more-Its always the people and the culture which I enjoy the most during my travels.
I also enjoyed watching a couple show us how they make beautiful decorativeproducts using palm leaves. They made a deer,a parrot,a fish and a flower that we carried back as souvenirs. My mind was constantly thinking of how beautiful these palm leaf decorations wll look in my garden so i happliy went to a local shop and bought more.A huge part of travel for me is about supporting and empowering local communities.
The sunsets in a small little village callede Puravipalayam is absolutely stunning. As we drove to the village,I absolutely loved witnessing the nature and all the small village houses. As our car came to a halt,we walked up to a humongous Banyan tree that had an ancient temple inside. The landscape was breathtaking and its a beautiful place to try sunset photography because the vast lanscape is absolutely stunning. We tried some portrait photography through the filtered light coming through the banyan tree.Just writing about this place makes me want to pack my bags and go there.
