Madumalai, Tamil Nadu

This forest region is a camper's delight as you get to trek through the hills and includes in various activities here. It is approx 227 kms from Bangalore and easy to travel in a over night bus or train journey. The Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary also a declared tiger reserve, lies on the northwestern side of the Nilgiri Hills (Blue Mountains), in Nilgiri District, about 150 km north-west of Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu. It shares its boundaries with the states of Karnataka and Kerala.

Yelagri, Tamil Nadu

The hill town of Yelagiri is a backpacker's paradise as it has many things to offer to it's visitors. It is approx 158 kms from Bangalore and an ideal distance for a weekend getaway drive. Yelagiri is a hill station in the southeast Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Built in 1964, the hilltop Velavan Temple is a colorful Murugan temple with views of the valley below. The Jalagamparai Waterfalls crash into a swimming hole surrounded by trails and picnic spots. Nearby is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Close to artificial Punganur Lake, the Nature Park has a garden and an aquarium, with fish and tortoises.

Dubare, Karnataka

The dense forests of Dubare is famous for it's elephant camps where tourists can get close with these gentle giants. It is approx 241 kms and elephant camps make a perfect place for children to experience this calm giant.

The Coringa mangrove forests is the Godavari delta is a popular camping site, where campers head to enjoy the beauty of nature. It is perfect place for experiencing river bank camping. Though it is 887 kms from Bangalore but you will get a a all together a different experience.

Coorg, Karnataka

It is also referred to as the "Scotland of India" and it it known to be a camper;s heaven as then can indulge in various adventure activities here.Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies. In the center, the 17th-century Madikeri Fort features 2 stone elephants at the entrance. Nearby, the domed Omkareshwar Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. Munnar Kerala:

Another incredible escapafe for campers is the hilly terrians of Munnar amidst the tea gardens.Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak. It is 528 kms from Bangalore, first 400kms are in plains and can be covered in god speed, but once ghat sections person will slow down.

Wayanad, Kerala

Located in the western Ghats ot offers campers with the opportunity to go trekking and cycling accross hilly terrains. Wayanad is a rural district in Kerala state, southwest India. In the east, the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is a lush, forested region with areas of high altitude, home to animals including Asiatic elephants, tigers, leopards and egrets. In the Ambukuthi Hills to the south, Edakkal Caves contain ancient petroglyphs, some dating back to the Neolithic age.
