5 tips to cope up with travel hunger during lockdown #Traveltips

Just like you all, even I had some real exciting travel plans for 2020! But all thanks to Corona for screwing up everything. If you love to explore places quite often, then it would be even difficult to satisfy your travel hunger in the lockdown. Lately, you may even get a feeling of being house arrested. But never mind, here are 5 tips to cope up with the hunger of travel during the lockdown.

1. Watch travel movies and documentaries

From Encounters at the end of the world, Into the wild, Vertical limit, Everest to Zindagi Na milegi dobara, Dil Chahta hai, Kedarnath, Tamasha.. etc. There is a real good content available around travel genere in movies and documentaries. Even on YouTube, many travel webseries are available and they are worth watching. Point around here is, this digital content will definitely take you in the outer world. So, in a way, you will travel virtually.

2. Try food of different region and culture

This is my personal favourite and I have been doing this quite often in the lockdown. Food is inseparable part of travel life. Give a break to your regular food and try cooking different cuisines and delicacies of various regions. A great way to satisfy hunger of your tummy and travel-freak soul! To make this more interesting I started an experiment. Cook a dish of different region, know more about their lifestyle and thereby blend travel, food and culture. Because every dish, across each region has an interesting story behind. Every bite of that local food, unfolds a lot about people and their culture. You can read more about this, in my TFC series on Instagram.

3. Make a travel diary

Remember Bunny and his inspiring travel journal from the movie Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani?

Yes!! Make a travel diary with the pictures of places you had been to and the places in your bucket list.

Photos of your past trips will give you confidence to conquer more. And the photos of your bucket list locations will inspire you to always go an extra mile, in life.

4. Read, visualize, create!

When you watch, you see what's already created. But when you read, you imagine and create your own story. Reading lets you visualize the picture, out of words. And living your own visualized story will always please you. A lot of good travel books are available online and offline. Start reading those wonderful stories.

Reading travel stories in the lockdown actually helped me in my professional work as well. It did help me a lot to boost my visualization and thereby create soothing illustrations. You can check some of my travel illustrations on my Instagram page.

5. Meditate to rejuvenate old travel memories

Ah! This only strikes me, my unforgettable experience of meditating on the bank of river Tungabhadra at 7 in the morning in my recent trip to Hampi! The experience was just surreal.

We all know the benefits of meditation. Try to recollect all those beautiful memories of places you had been and people you met, when you meditate. It will drastically rejuvenate all your travel memories.
