Charminar

Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana and de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh is a popular tourist destination and presents its visitors with a mesmerizing contrast of age-old tradition, culture at one end and modern facilities, amenities of a metropolitan city at another end.Charminar also referred to as the 'Arc de Triomphe of the East' is located on the east bank of the Musi River in the old city. This square-shaped structure with a height of 56 m and a width of 30 m with four towers in each corner was constructed in 1591. The minarets on each side are of 48.7 m height, each with four-storey. Charminar has a small mosque as well on the top floor (second floor).

Lumbini Park is a public urban park of 3 hectares adjacent to Hussain Sagar developed in 1994 by the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority. It has been named after the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Located quite close to the Hussain Sagar, it is one of the major tourist spots of Hyderabad. The musical fountain and the laser show here mustn't be missed. The giant clock designed with various kinds of flora at the entrance is one of the prime attraction of the park.

One of the three National Museums of India, The Salar Jung Museum is an art museum located on the southern bank of the Musi River. The Museum has a collection of 43000 art objects, 9000 manuscripts and 47000 printed books, it is considered to be one of the biggest one-man collection of the world. The antique is divided and placed according to their identity like, European, Middle East, India and Chinese. There are 38 galleries all around the floors with 1 st floor consisting of 20 galleries and a central hall with a musical clock and rest galleries on the 2 nd floor.

Located at top of 280 feet high hillock called Naubath Pahad covering an area of 13 acres, Birla Mandir has derived its name from the industrialist Birlas who have constructed Birla temples in various parts of the country.Constructed in 1976, it is said that it took 10 years and close to 2000 tonnes of white marbles to build this stunning temple.The temple manifests a blend of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Utkala architectures. The granite idol of Lord Venkateswara is about 11 feet tall and a carved lotus forms an umbrella on the top. Apart from the main shrine, the consorts of Lord Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal are housed in separate shrines. The temple also has separate shrines for various Hindu gods and goddess.

The bewitch NTR Garden, spread over an area of 36 acres adjacent to Hussain Sagar was developed in the memory of Late Shri N T Rama Rao. Besides the variety of green landscape, the garden also houses a boat ride, Japanese garden, roaring cascade, souvenir complex, a visitors train, restaurants and number of fountains.This is an adequate place, especially for children.
