On 14th Dec 2018 I & 2 friend of mine started the journey from Howrah Jn. We had two reservation in Chakradharpur Express and I had to travel in RAC as my ticket did not confirmed. It seems my bad luck is running out of luck. Well jokes apart..
After more than 1hr of delay in Howrah finally we started around 12.00 am(15th Dec 2018) as the Chakradharpur Express arrived at Howrah almost 45 minutes of delay.
There was nothing to do in train and as I traveled in RAC it was not possible for me to sleep but thanks to the other traveler who was with me we adjusted and manage to take some nap as well.
I awake around 5.3o am on next day and eagerly waited to reach Purulia and finally we reached our destination with a delay of 1hr(7.24 am).
We booked hotel and car from Kolkata and the driver waited there for us. We meet with him and started our journey from Purulia Jn.
We headed towards Bonpolasi Eco-Hut situated Just beside of Murguma Dam. In our way we took a break and had our breakfast from some unknown "Dhaba" and trust me the food was so delicious. The view which we get from the car was awesome and it reflects the exactly what rural bengal looks.
Finally we reached to our destination around 9.30 am. The Bonpolasi Eco Hut. I was so much exited to see the Eco-Hut. It was
After taking some fresh air and rest we started to explore the surrounding area and Murguma Dam as well. as because it was winter and also there was some barrage construction work, the water level of Murguma lake was very low and it's was in it's dry state. I went down somehow and went to inside of the lake which is normally not possible.
After exploring the area and Murguma Dam we returned back to Bon Polasi Eco Hut. After getting fresh I felt asleep and finally awake in the time of lunch when my friends and the staff of the eco hut called me rapidly. They tried to wake me for half an hour at-least and for that our lunch get delayed.
After lunch we took some time and then started our journey towards Ukamburu Hill Top. The Bon Polasi Eco Hut arranged a guide which cost rs 300 total.
We walked for at least one hour and finally we reached to the view point of Ukamburu Hill and the entire journey along with the view from the hilltop was just awesome. Also we had to deal with some tough time when we are returning back as there was no such road there. We did some small trekking as well for that and trust me it was worthy enough.
Later we came back and in our way back we saw the sun set which was mesmerizing.
Later in night the Eco-Hut arranged the traditional "Chow Dance" as we asked for that. It cost additional rs. 3000 which is also included in total cost of this tour. We are very gland to witness this traditional "Chow Dance" of Purulia, it was amazing, interesting, breathtaking and also so much difficult bit thanks to those guys who were performing, they made it so simple that you don't have any idea how difficult and challenging it was.
Later we completed our dinner and that's all for day two.
The very next day I woke-up and explore the surrounding area, it was a lonely place full of natural beauty, for and there are so many birds around the place. The music of the bird is what makes the mind happy. Then I came back and after getting ready we had our breakfast in Bon Polashi Eco Hut and we left the hut.
Before left the hut we took some random photos of the place and of-course our own.
Later we started our journey towards Marble lake. As told by the locals it was a hill with marble rock and for tourist attraction govt made this lake. The lake was so beautiful and also the view from the top was just fantastic.
Then we moved ahead towards Bamni falls which is a famous water waterfalls located in the nearby location. The falls was too much beautiful but the only disadvantage was the way to get down to the bottom as there is no such road available which gave us a challenge to get down and we yes, we accepted that as well.
We are so much tired when we came back to our car and after taking some rest and we started again towards Uppar Dam and Lower Dam.
Due to packed schedule we skip our lunch for the day and in our way we completed it with dry food and some other things.
Last but not the least we reached Charida, The Mask Village. The village is known for it's mask. Local people created mask for Chow Dance and any for other occasion. The entire village doing this on regular basis. You can visit there, see there creation and hardwork, you can click photos of them even if you don't buy anything from them, they will not say anything. But please try to buy something as it is their one of the major source of earning.
Then we start to return back to Purulia Station and we are so tired of our whole day journey. We though that we finished our trip but yet another surprise awaited there in the station. Once we reached the station we walked there and there and suddnlly my friend called me to see something, I came but honestly I was not prepared for this. It is nothing but a FOB in Station(Platform No 1).
And we are came back with lots of happiness(Sadness as well) with a promise which we made with myself that WILL COME BACK AGAIN. Well that's all for now, hope you enjoy and inspire by this and if so, then thank you..
