Only 6 hours away from India, Singapore was always in our mind to travel and explore. We planned a 3 day trip to Singapore and still wanted more.
Our 3 days trip cost us around: 40,000 per person
Where to stay: If you are a party animal, prefer to stay near Clarke Quay. If you are indian foodie then go for places that are near Little India or china town.
The moment we landed at Changi Airport we were in different world. Changi airport is well developed and kids friendly. If you are travelling with infant/kid do remember to carry your stroller. We didn't had the stroller but were lucky to get one on airport. Everything is systematic and well planned in Singapore. People are very friendly. We were redirected by the airport staff to book the cab that could drop us to our hotel.
We booked Parc Sovereign Hotel in Tyrwhitt. Hotel location was amazing and very close to Little India (Hub for Indians). Best part was we were given free phone by the hotel for our stay with unlimited international calling and internet.
Since we were vegetarian and hungry, we headed straight to Little India to grab some Indian Food after keeping our luggage. We were happy to find so many indian restaurants there. Mustafa center is a big shopping hub where you can shop ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Since our trip was short we wanted to experience everything.
Traveller Tip: If you are plannning to get your currency exchanged then Mustafa Center is the place. You will get best rates here.
It was already 9 in night so we planned for Bumboat River Cruise. It was 1 hour ride and totally worth it. During our ride we were made to visit all important landmarks of Singapore which we wont have been able to cover otherwise. Later we were dropped at Clarke Quay which is the main party hub for Singapore. With lively music, great pubs, beautiful view of river and amazing crowd this place is must visit in night. Do checkout their Social Wall.
In the morning after having heavy southindian breakfast in Little India we headed to Universal Studios. Cabs are costly in Singapore so we planned to take metro from Little India MRT station. Singapore has well connected Metro connectivity for all main tourist attractions.
Traveller Tip: Cut down your commuting cost and travel through Metro. Its advisable to get MRT Express pass to save time and money if you are planning to take Metro.
From there we reached Falcon MRT station. This opens up in Vivo city Mall. This was a big shopping mall housing all the international brands. From there we took Sentosa Line which has been designed specially for Sentosa, Universal Studios and Siloso beach Singapore.
We already had booked tickets for Universal Studio so we avoided long queue and headed straight. If you are an adventure lover then this is must go. It has 7 different sections. My favourite was Hollywood specially Lights Camera Action. Each section has set of rides, some amazing food, shopping arena to get some goodies and activites. IF you really want to pump up your adrenaline then try rollercoaster rides in every arena. If you are travelling with kid then you can rent a stroller here. One can easily spend whole day here.
Tip: If you want to save time on rides and avoid long queues then go for singles line instead of regular ones. In case you have some extra bucks to spend on, you can buy VIP pass that will give you entry in priority queue.
In the evening we went to witness the beautiful SEA aquarium next to Universal Studios. Its just not a small one, its a big one housing all species ranging from small fishes to large and giant ones. After a tiring but great day we headed back to our hotel for rest.
It was our last day so we planned to visit Sentosa Island. This time after reaching Vivo City Mall, we took Cable car instead of Sentosa line. Cable car starts from Vivo city mall covering Sentosa, Universal Studios and highest point of Singapore Faber Peak. We took a drop at Sentosa and visited Merilion Statue and then headed to Madame Tassauds which has been added recently to Singapore attractions. For photograph and selfie lovers this place is total delight.
Our next stop was Siloso Beach. With its clear blue waters, its perfect place to get sun bathed. After completing cable car ride, we took a drop at Vivo City Mall and moved on to our last destination China Town. The moment you enter this place you can feel the vibes of China. This beautifully decorated market with lanterns offers some delicious chinese cuisisne. You can shop to your heart content here. This whole market has free wifi which can be one more reason to spend some gala time here.
With this our trip came to end and we packed our bags to retun back to India. The only thing we couldnt cover was Garden of Bay. But yes, this gives us a reason to come back to Singapore and explore things we coudnt cover in this trip.
