Trip to the Niagara Falls of South India
It began with a weekend gateway pitch. We chose to take a road trip to The Niagara Falls of South India, which is located about 130 kilometers from the city.
The road path was stunning scenery gorgeous, with rich green foliage. The path was marked by lush valleys and monkeys on the ghat sections.
Local fisherman maintain the coracle ride near the falls. The typical rates of the rides would start at Rs 1500 for two to three individuals. The ride will take you to the foot of the falls, where you can see the hazy mist.
The massive splashes of Kaveri produce mist by striking the granite, giving the impression of smoke escaping the rock beds. The waterfalls are called after two Kannada words: 'hoge,' which means smoke, and 'kal,' which means rocks. Hogenakkal, also known as the Niagara of India, attracts a large number of tourists from the surrounding areas.
