The trip to Kasol is not complete till you explore small villages beyond kasol. You can consider Kasol to be your "base" but not really the destination.

I'M SERIOUS.

1. Kalga

2. Pulga

3. Chhalal

4. Tosh

5. Malana

6. Manikaran

7. Kheerganga

8. Rasol

9. Kutla

10. Bhuntar & Barshaini

The trip to kasol is not complete if you do not combine it with one of these places and a trek. There are several treks around kasol.

Kasol is known for its hippie culture, bakery and some good shopping.

Staring my trip from delhi/ NCR to Kasol first:

I took the overnight bus from Delhi, Majnu ka tila and it dropped me to Kullu. There are no direct buses that take you to Kasol. You will have to change the bus at Kullu, and transfer to local buses.

These local buses are slow and rickety, but give you the natural feel of the Himachal culture. Be brave with your luggage and the Back.

By 11 AM, you will make it to Kasol. I chose to freshen up at a very cute cafe. I sat and soaked some sun and ordered fresh juice and some apple pies. There are several cafe and restraunts in Kasol. These are my favourite ones.

@panjatara

@Moon Dance cafe

I then decided to go ahead and do some darshan at Manikaran, Gurudwara. It is immensely peaceful and you get to have some langar as well.

I would request everybody to please maintain the piousness and the purity of this place. There is hot spring also which has immense therapeutic benefits, but be careful as the area here becomes slippery.

After spending some good time at the Gurudwara and taking in blessings, I chose to trek upwards. But before that, I must take pictures.

It is a lovely walk hike towards Barshaini. With my bagpack, I started walking uphill, crossed bridges and rivers with Parvati river flowing parallelly. The lush green and tall trees around me and just the purest version of air that I could feel touching my face. My cheeks turned red and eyes were sparkling with excitement. The innocence can be felt only in untouched and pure areas like these.

After walking for an hour uphill, I reached a small village and then a huge dam. This is a dam and bridge of Barshaini. Its huge and is great landmark. There are diversions for different villages from this place.

And this is where you choose your direction. There are homestays, camps and several treks. You can choose to book in advance or you can even go there and find something to stay. There are hostels available too.

I will be giving details of my each trek and detailed description in my separate blogs.. so stay tuned.
