Whenever we talk about spending some time in mountains surrounded by mesmerizing views of nature, places like Shimla, Spiti, Massoorrie, Manali etc come to our mind. But they actual need detailed planning before we proceed for such destinations. But there is this one place which doesn't needs much of planning and is like a READY TO GO destination for spending your weekend away from the worldly rush.

Morni is a small village in Panchkula district of Haryana. Located in the extensions of Shivalik ranges of Himalayas, this area popularly known as "Morni Hills" provides mesmerizing views of Himalayas.

It is located approximately 45kms from Chandigarh. The roads are well built so its an easy ride/drive to the place. There are some stretches of the road, where it becomes a little steep, but nothing to be worried about as normal vehicles also can easily move up the hill. Along the way you will find some amazing natural pitstops to capture and record time lapses of the sunrise/sunsets in their beautiful golden tones.

After reaching the place you will be welcomed by two large lakes known as Tikkar tal lakes. The boating option is available in the larger lake along with some trekking options also to make your journey adventurous.

There are numerous resorts in the area to make your stay comfortable which can be searched over the internet. Tikkar Tal And Mountain Quail are among them and being maintained by Haryana Tourism.

The lakes are covered with mountains and provide a beautiful location specially to photographers to want to shoot MILKYWAY GALAXY or timelapses of clouds passing over the lake.

There is a small fort in the area which has been converted to a museum by the Forest Department and houses old pictures of the Fort, and endangered birds and animals etc.

A perfect place to spend your weekend and nourish your body to soul to prepare it for the week ahead.
