The call to spirituality - DharamKot

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world was grappling with uncertainty and fear, I decided to embark on an unconventional journey. It was July 2021, and the desire to escape the monotony of lockdowns and restrictions led us to the quaint village of Dharamkot, nestled in the serene lap of the Himalayas.

The remote beauty of Dharamkot, with its lush green landscapes and towering mountains, offered the perfect backdrop for both relaxation and remote work. Armed with laptops, masks, and a sense of adventure, I set out on a journey that would prove to be both rejuvenating and inspiring.

As we arrived in Dharamkot, the air was crisp. The village, situated above McLeod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh, welcomed us with open arms. The small, vibrant community exuded a sense of tranquility that instantly put my worries at ease. Colorful prayer flags fluttered in the mountain breeze, creating a picturesque scene against the backdrop of the Dhauladhar range.

We chose to stay in a cozy cottage perched on a hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The days were divided between exploring the nearby trails, attending virtual work meetings, and immersing ouselves in the local culture. Dharamkot, known for its spiritual and artistic community, provided a unique blend of experiences.

Mornings began with yoga sessions on the terrace, surrounded by the sound of chirping birds and the distant ringing of bells. The afternoons were dedicated to remote work, with each friend finding their favorite spot to set up their makeshift office amidst nature. The Wi-Fi, surprisingly reliable, allowed us to stay connected with the outside world while being enveloped in the peaceful mountain ambiance.

During breaks, we would wander through the village, discovering hidden cafes and interacting with locals who shared stories of the rich history and spirituality that Dharamkot held. The evenings were spent around a bonfire, exchanging ideas and reflecting on the day's adventures. The star-studded sky above seemed to tell tales of ancient times, adding a touch of magic to the evenings.

As days passed, we found solace in the rhythm of Dharamkot. The breathtaking landscapes, the simplicity of life, and the warm hospitality of the locals created a sense of harmony that was missing from my life. The challenges of remote work seemed insignificant compared to the grandeur of the mountains and the serenity of the surroundings.

The journey to Dharamkot became a transformative experience. The healing power of nature during a time of global uncertainty. As they bid farewell to the village, the memories of Dharamkot remained etched in my hearts, serving as a reminder that even in the face of challenges, there are places that offer the promise of better days ahead && I am so glad that we did this! Beautiful memories that has entered into my memory system!
