Kangra is a lower range of the same Himalayan range that spans through that of McLeodgunj to Bir or Triund.
So as we stopped at the gate of Kangra, we realised that there’s definitely more than what we know of it. And, as we dug deeper into the landscape, we were confirmed of its undulating beauty. From plush mountains to clean lakes and a Royal Fort, Kangra is a versatile mini-station for those who’d like to have the best of all worlds in terms of hill-station venturing.
While, it is only to say that if you want something even more, take a slight detour towards Mcleod, and enter the second off-road ahead of the Trek & Dine bar... and the Gullu waterfall and a sunset point will be waiting to treat you with a great view and some friendly mountain hounds. Also: some mind-cracking cups of hot lemon-honey-ginger tea, cranky butter toasts, smooth butter-Maggi and one straight-oughta-heaven banana-caramel pancake!
(And, without wasting much space now...) here are some unavoidably good memories from our Kangra heist on the last-to-last weekend.
