Tosh to Kasol is approximately a 1 hour Journey. you can hire a cab or hire a private cab. Since i am a solo traveller i generally prefer travelling by public transport its more safe and you have so many local people to talk to about the place. Kasol is fast emerging as a hub for backpackers, trekkers and nature lovers. It is yet to be ruined by commercialization. However, it is also one of those places you want to strike off your bucket list before you have children as it is home to a deep-rooted local culture of pot and hippie hues. Even if you are not into either of those, there are many other things to do in Kasol.
I reached malana by a public transport not much to see its a remote area but Mother Nature has created this place with her own hands. Malana is an ancient solitary village in Himachal Pradesh. Known as Malana Nala, it lies in Parvati Valley isolating Malana is an ancient solitary village in Himachal Pradesh. Known as Malana Nala, it lies in Parvati Valley isolating itself from rest of the world. It is situated on a godforsaken plateau by the side of Malana Rive
Another interesting thing about the village is its locals who are touch-me-not. Though they are friendly but touching their things is what boils their blood. Their court system resembles The Ancient Greek System as they believe themselves to be the followers of Alexander the Great.
I halted for an hour and moved towards Kheer Ganga its 26 kms ahead.
Highest point of trek : 10,065 FtNearest Airport : Bhuntar AirportNearest Railhead : 150 kmRegion : Kullu Dhaba food is available up along the way. You can pack essential food for the rest of the climb.Guest houses are available at all destinations. Camping can also be adopted by trekkers on the trek because of the natural beauty that it boasts of.All the way Trek was very beautiful. Its an easy trek i would suggest to carry some warm clothes if you are camping river side. The main path to Kheerganga starts from Barshaini from where it’s an 11 km trek. Barshaini is 3 km away from Tosh. The first few kilometres were hardly a climb. My trail went through lush farms, small hills and villages along the Parvati River. i couldn’t help but stop on many points to let the beauty of our surroundings sink in. With not a single soul in sight, I thought i had taken a wrong way until i reached the the first village.
The last part of the trek demanded a strenuous climb – before i was finally in Kheerganga!Kheerganga is a spiritual site where Lord Shiva is believed to have meditated for 3,000 years. There is a little pool on the highest point here with warm spring water. The water from the hot springs is believed to be “holy” with healing properties. The tiny pool of Kheerganga is what the village has been named after – which roughly translates to ‘milky water of holy nature’. This pool is divided into two sub pools with one section for men and the other for women.Kasol is also famous for its Israeli Food and Pan cakes do try you will love it and the price is also affordable. All the way i found so may trekkers from India and from other parts of the world.
You can also take a walk to Parvati river. the view is scenic. if you are planning to stay in kasol there are many BNB availble for good price. Alos if you wantto spend some money you can get a luxurious tent river side..
Stroll to the local flea market to pick souvenirs for family and friends. The flea market of Kasol sells items like semi precious stones, pendants and other trinkets. Bob Marley T-shirts abound alongside that of Lord Shiva, incidentally both pot smoking icons. Winter clothing like pullovers, caps and coats can be bought at astoundingly low prices.
