From Chandigarh airport start your journey through Shimla. If you wish to avoid the crowd travel for an hour more and get the mountain vibes to thrill at Narkanda.
Start the fresh day with your breakfast and don't forget to visit the nearby temples. Small treks but worth practicing before the final moves. To add if you can shake your hands with some local, he or she will take you for a tour of cherry and apple gardens. It's worth spending sometime amongst the bunch of fresh cherries and apples.
Start your journey for 220km more towards Sangla.
Wake up early and start your journey towards Chitkul, the last village in India. Though it is not worth staying there but few hours is enough to enjoy the serenity of the village. It's worth taking a risk in freezing winter.
Complete your brunch or lunch, whichever is preferable and then head towards Kalpa.
Repetitive early morning wake in the hills will be surprisingly acknowledging for urban people. Repeat the same and head towards Tabo. If you are traveling in winter try to visit the man made Nako lake or else skip it in summer.
Tabo is a small village with an old monastery of more than 1000 years old. The village takes us to a step back to old heritage and culture enriching the serenity of the place.
The day starts with a long drive via Dhankar lake, mud village-pin valley and then heading towards kaza. If you are a trek person and willing to take a chance to glance wildlife extend your stay in Mud or Mudh Village or else complete your lunch and move towards Kaza.
A bit about Dhankar lake, it's a lake above the mountains but highly recommended for frequent trekkers not anyone who's not accustomed with treks. But the monastery and the village has its own beauty (Dhan means fort and kar means cliff) with the fort hanging on a cliff.
Well this day don't start with a place but with special mention of the hotel. I will explicitly recommend this hotel as it takes away the hectic vibes and gives an utmost comfort with food and hospitality. Carry your own drinks to enjoy the vibes of Kaza.
Stay at Deyzor and travel to Key monastery. With its own white charm it carries a heavy history which may not be mentioned in the books. Sit there and feel in the cool breeze the life of Spiti. There will be a lingering noise saying "stay back".
You can choose two options depending on the roads and vehicles you are carrying. Follow to Manali or back to Chandigarh. If you are having too many luggage and Ertiga try not to take risk on that route before July. Head back towards Shimla/Narkanda for some local shopping and pub life.
