Day 1

Hello to all survivors,

This is the time when I thought to do a trip of my dreams. 2 month before I was thinking to have a challenging trip with peaceful vibes, with calm but thunderous feel. cool mind with warm soul and my hunger ended up to Spiti valley. As I was having the hunger for rustic views, challenging roads and peaceful village vibes. And Spiti surved a totally different facade of Himachal Pradesh in my travel platter. Most of the people ask Ed me a lot of times why you always ended up to Himachal or Uttarakhand. This trip will give them the answer why I always choose mountains over anything. The history of himalayas as it would have been during the days of geological upheaval is clearly painted in the beautiful landscapes of Spiti valley.

Friends as always this trip was not as easy as you all were thinking of. As usual my close friends were not in a situation to give me company this time so I have to plan everything all alone. Initially I was fearful to go on solo as this place was totally unknown for me so I decided to create an event over Facebook and decided to go with others . Most of you shown interest but I ended up to 3 girls and 3 boys for the trip. They made their confirmation to come along with me.

Every thing were sorted and planned according to the itinerary. But jab tak Kuch mirch masala na ho meri life ki bhaji achi nahi ban sakti. :-))

So at the end moment ( a day before leaving for Spiti) our car driver denied to come with us and I was so much in tension that how would I cope up with the plans with out a car as I was the incharge for all the things. At 2 o clock in the night I was standing at my balcony hopelessly thinking that may be this time I won’t be able to make this trip work. Thanks to Mohsin Khan for encouraging me and made me realised that I can make anything possible. But side by side Itna confidence bhi tha ki car ni hui to will make it work by government buses ( Lekin jana hai to bas jana hai.)Then I thought to share this with other fellow traveler that car driver denied to come. One of my friend and a fellow traveler Harish Kumar took all the things on a serious note and talked to his uncle and we booked a car on immediate basis. Next day in evening at 8 we all left with full of hopes and excitement for our upcoming adventures and here the journey begins ...

DAY 1 in CHITKUL-

when I get asked about my favourite hill station, my answer always is chitkul. It has been more then 15 days and I’m still not getting over of this place. This will always remained on top of my “ most scenic places” list. This tiny hamlet hidden in the remote hills of Himalayas looks like a picture straight out of a painting. We reached shimla at 6 in the morning and we continued our journey to reach chitkul asap. Way to chitkul is..

-Delhi - Chandigarh- Shimla -Narkanda - Rampur - Jeori - Karcham - Sangla - Rakcham - Chitkul.

So we started at 8 from Delhi and reached chitkul by 4 in the evening via crossing all these places. On the way to chitkul I saw first waterfall near narkanda ( I don’t know the name of this fall) but this was straight at the road and one can easily find this while being on the same route. As you all are very much aware about my love for waterfall . When I saw this fall I immediately stopped car and jumped in to water. And obviously gave my signature pose with waterfall too????????. After narkanda the drive is mostly downhill to the bank of river Sutlej. Drive along with river and reach karcham while crossing rampur and jeori on the way.from karcham it is then straight drive to chitkul of 40 km via crossing Sangla. roads were Surrounded by hills from all sides, a road leading up to it then ending at this small village of Kinnaur valley making it to last inhabited village on indo - China border.

Now first question that comes to mind why visit chitkul. To be frank there is nothing at chitkul. It is just tiny village with a handful of houses only. It is not really a place for people who like visiting tourist destination like manali and shimla. That kind of people will definitely get disappointed here. This is the divine place and I came here just to feel nature, to feel myself. Here a big thanks to Rohan Gokhale who suggested me this beautiful place and recommended me to stay in Zostel.

To choose zostel and staying here was the first worthy decision on Spiti trip. Everyone was so happy after seeing the natural aura of this place and zostel Inhanced its beauty more than 100 times. This is the place to sit in peace and tranquility. Away from the crowd at an offbeat destination. The only thing to do here just to be relax in the natural beauty all around you; to savor on the mesmerising vistas and listen to the music of nature which can give you the eargasm for sure.

We spent a wonderful evening here had a lot of local food which was expensive but worth to get here in remote village. Zostel night was looking like a fairytale one. Outdoor of zostel was so romantic and attractive. I lost myself when I saw that evening view of my dreams. We played cards, a lot of laughter with dosto ki tang kheechna. Overall a day spent like I never spent before.

Day 2...will be continued in the next blog. Till then stay tunned and keep showing your love for me and for nature..????
