3. Tigmo
Pronounced as Teemo, it’s a dish which is consumed either as a dish or as a snack. It’s a flavoured stew prepared with lots of vegetables and fermented bread pieces. You can choose to make the stew a non-vegetarian one too. Spices are to be added as per your tolerance levels, this stew is just what the doctor would order; tasty and healthy.
4. Momos
You can go from Delhi to Leh, Mumbai to Kolkata, or Bihar to Bangalore, one thing can be assured, you will find momos in each place. Traditionally they are steamed buns with or without fillings. Momos are an excellent dish to have in Leh for they are best suited for the chilly climate.
5. Chhupri
We have eaten cheese made from goat and cow milk, now it’s time for yak milk’s cheese. A delicacy in this part of the world, Chhupri is prepared by adding lime and citrus fruits to yak milk and then churning it. It’s a tedious process and the end result is glorious and yummy cheese. Have them with momos or crackers, the taste is divine.
6. Butter Tea
Made from green tea leaves, yak butter, and milk; butter tea will tickle your taste-buds and is a great drink to have during the chilly evenings.
