Paragliding at Birbilling

We took a overnight bus from Delhi to Palampur. From Palampur bus stop we took an auto rickshaw to our resort which was a good ride of 12 kms into the Nagri village. We checked into Seclude resort. This home stay which abounds in greenery, with the view of the Dhauladhar range was heart melting. The resort is beautifully designed with woody touch, such that you can hear the music of your own sitlletos. After hogging aalo paranthas in the breakfast, we headed to Birbilling. Paragliding was the highlight of our trip. A friend from the Indian Army got our rates slashed out to almost half for this stint along with videos/photographs. Strapped up completely, and with an expert navigating the parachute in the forceful winds, we began this breathe taking experience. Being left suspended in the cold winds for over 40 mins, was quite a unusual experience. I grabbed some lungful of pure oxygen, with the Himalayas visible from all the sides and some where far away river Beas was making its mark. The sun peeped from the floating clouds and seldom shadowed us. I must say that I felt a bit pukish in the fag end of the gliding experience, but once I landed I was back to good in a few minutes. After paragliding we headed back to our resort and engaged ourselves in some cycling. The most recommended activity if you putting up at this resort. Though in d morning you will wake up with some aching bones but still it is feels great. 

The next morning we headed to Andretta village, 30 kms off Palampur known for its history in the pottery world. Some serious art lovers have thrived here and there is an Pottery institution where this learning is imparted. If somebody yearns for a sabbatical in life, this could be a great vocation to engage oneself in. We booked ourselves an afternoon session of pottery lesson. Playing with the mud and soiling our clothes in the process, we went too ambitious on the wheel. We realized that we are far away from accomplishing just the first step called centering. Post that we came back to our resort, called The Mirage. It was an heavenly abode with flora bounties in abundance. We happily plucked blueberries and enjoyed eating them. Our mud laden cottage was pretty. The mud walls were thin and our french neighbors could hear the loud music we played on Apple Music, since the place has wi-fi connectivity. Early to bed, we slept off in peace. The next day we chilled in the hammock and enjoyed the pancakes in the breakfast. We had to get back to our homes. We packed our bags and with a quick stop over at the Norbulingka monastery at Dharamshala, we caught a bus back to Delhi. :-)
