Boarded the delhi- manali volvo around 5:00 pm. With high enthusiasm and expectations i set off for Manali. This was my first solo trip, i have a fear somewhere at the back of my mind as its the first time I'm going to some place all by myself. But more than fear i was happy and willing to do every possible adventure.
As unique as it's name this place is magical, with River Beas flowing along with it and one of the most peaceful places in the world this place has my heart. I can never forget the mesmerising scenic views. Started my day with a cup of tea and by the end of the day i was enjoying the infamous brownies. With less indians and more Israeli's and russians the place is all together a new world. Bongs, chillums being sold all around in the Kasol market is in itself a different experience.
Ohh Manali!! you beauty, hope i come soon to visit you. A place which has both my heart and mind. Starting from the congested mall road to the secluded himalayan passes, Manali is my escape. I hope someday i get to settle there. The most amazing thing about manali is the air, that fresh air with the views of the snowcapped pir panjal range and greater himalayas. I get goosebumps after seeing mountains, i have so much love for mountains, i just want to climb each one. The photographer in me was on fire. This place did something to me something positive, something i was trying to find about myself from a very long time.
The excitement and enthusiasm was still not over beacuse this day was allotted for Rohtang and lahaul village. I made the cab reservations which was till Udaipur village in lahaul valley but i didn't get the permit so went till Keylong. The journey from Manali till keylong is still fresh in my mind. The roads in bad conditions so many causeways, Rain including low visibility, and frozen glaciers all around.
Our first stop was at Gulaba as there is a security check. From Gulaba i went to Marhi a paragliding spot but due to rain all adventure sports were cancelled. I had a cup of coffee and boiled eggs for my breakfast as i had to trek later on. My next stop was at the Rani nallah glacier before Rohtang pass. It was freezing cold, being almost near the zero point and heavy rain, i thought i wont surive for long. I trekked till the top of Rohtang pass in rain, i just has 2 sticks which helped me reach there.
I was tired and in pain because i slipped more than 20 times but going up there was worth it. The view from there was mind blowing. It was the most peaceful day of my life till now. I trekked in keylong too which was quite easy. I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy because i made so many memories, took so many amazing photographs, and met a bunch of new people, and i was sad as i had to go back to delhi the next day.
The next day i had to be back to delhi due to the commencement of my new semester in college. The trip wasn't over it has just begun, a lot is still to come, a lot of mountains to climb, a lot of glaciers to be trekked, so many photographs to click.
I hope whoever reads this, likes it, the composition may not be right, might have grammatical errors, show some love as is have poured my heart out to write it, remembering everything while stuck in the regular college life .
