Whenever someone told me that they loved travel solo, I always wonder what fun would it be to visit a place all alone. Moreover, I never had the courage to step outside my home alone for a trip. Guess, destiny has its own plans!
It was in September 2019 when all my friends ditched me for a pre planned trip to Kareri Village for various reasons. And there I was all alone and confused over whether I should continue with the plan or not.
I gathered guts and finally pushed myself to take this step. Well, I am glad I did!
Journey from Delhi to Kareri
I boarded a bus to Dharamshala from Delhi. While I was standing at the bus stop, I met this father daughter duo who were traveling to Mcleodganj. You won't believe, they literally dropped their plan to Mcleodganj and decided to travel with me to Kareri! Wow! Yep, that's how I found my company on a solo trip!
Here I realized that you are never solo on a solo trip!
After 12 hours of journey, I woke up to the beautiful mountains!
We reached Dharamshala and from here we took a cab to Kareri Village. The view was absolutely mesmerizing!
Once I reached Kareri Village, we trekked for about an hour to reach the place where I was to spent my time in Kareri.
Woodscation, this property is an absolute delight! From your mini cabin you get to treat your eyes with the astonishing beauty of Dhauladars. I visited here to relax for a bit. I needed a break since my exams had just finished.
I stayed in Kareri for a day and traveled back to Delhi th other day since something urgent had come up. It was a short weekend trip which taught me that I am enough for myself. While I travel solo I get to learn more about myself. I become independent! My first ever solo trip turned into a great adventure where I met various people on the road. Apart from the father daughter duo, I met three other people a saint who once used to be a railway officer and now turned to a path full of peace, two of his disciples, followed by the Woodscation owner. Each one of these taught me an important lesson about life. The duo taught me to live in the moment, the saint taught me the strength of our sub conscious mind and the property owner taught me the significance of handwork!
Not only did I bring back good memories from my first solo trip but also valuable lessons. I wonder what would have happened if I had say no to this solo trip!
