Memories of McLeodganj

We woke up in the morning and started packing up. We checked out and called the same rider from the last day. We decided we'll go to Dharmashala for sightseeing fir the rest of the Day where we had to board to our bus in the evening.

After taking the evening Bus from New Delhi, I arrived McLeodganj early in the morning with my friends. From there we went to our hotel, where they denied Check in due to price differences. It was not a good start. After a few hours of phone calls with the booking company, we got the refund and booked another hotel nearby. Now we started our trip in the afternoon around 2pm. So there were changes in our plan.

We reached McLeodganj Market and decided to shop there. After wandering there for an hour we heading back and we found this shop. We decided to give it a shot. So we went inside and actually found some goid stuffs to buy. The owners were a Tibetan Couple. I was very impressed by their warm welcome and a short joyous conversation. They provided us discounts on our purchase as well. After that we went back to the camp were we enjoyed bonfire, songs had fun and slept off since we were too tired. The KB guy was really cool at the camp.

The first stopage was in the middle of McLeodganj - Dharamshala, "The Illiterati Café". We went there, waited for our turn to get a table and in 10 minutes we got our table with an exquisite view. We enjoyed the food and caffeine and the nice books collection. Then we headed forward.

Finally we reached the Dharamshala Tea Garden. It was a nice place to capture some landscape photography. After half an hour we headed to a temple nearby. We offered our prayers. One thing was sure, wherever you go you'll find a nice scenery.

After that we went to the "Dharamshala War Memorial". We spent offered our tributes, spent some time in the Park.

Then headed to the "Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium". We went there sat in the stands and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. What better place to play cricket. After an hour we went outside had some snack and decided go to the bus station.

After reaching there we waited an hour for the bus in a mall there. The bus came we boarded and started wondering. So the trip is soon going to be over. And ofcourse we started planning our next trip because #aliveisawesome

We went straight to Bhagsu Falls. It's a 950m trek. Sounds less but it's not so much. After reaching the falls, we tried to get some space as you know how the tourist places are these days. The water was extremely cold, so i refused to go in it. But one of our friend is too adventurous to do so. So he decided to bathe in the falls.

After all this, we decided to go up to the Famous "Shiva Café". It's even above that point. But everyone was too tried. But how can we miss it. So we decided to gather the strength and move. After reaching there at nearly sunset, the scenery was extraordinary. We went inside the Café. There's arrangement of mattresses and small tables to sit relaxed. They served food such as maggi, pizzas and more. We went for maggi and tea. They also serve flavoured Hookah. After relaxing there for an hour, we decided to go back before it got dark. We went back had dinner, celebrated our friend's Birthday and went back to the hotel.

We check out from the hotel at Noon and went to the OYO Camp Bhagsu nearby. It seemed nice enough since it was little isolated and had good accommodation. Oh and the reason why we were camping here in McLeodganj and not Triund because everyone bailed out of the massive 9 Km trek. So we decided we'll check in to the camp and see the places in the city. We called a rider to take us to the sightseeing. They stop for nearly half an hour at one place.

First we went to the Namgyal Monastery. It was a nice place. The Tibet Monks live here in McLeodganj after they had to leave Tibet. The Tibet headquarters is also in McLeodganj. The view the the monastery was also amazing. We went inside the temple full of Tibetan Culture.

After spending about an hour there, we headed to the "St. John's Church in the Wilderness". It was my first time visiting Church. I always admired the beauty of window arts in the church. Finally witnessed one. It was nice. We spent some time there and headed to Dal Lake.

Don't confuse with the one in Srinagar. After reaching there we saw the lake didn't had much water. After 15 minutes there we decided to move to the Dal Naddi Sunset Point. But it was too early. So we decided to leave the cab and rent Two wheelers. The cab driver took us to the booking place.

We booked 2 scooties and a Duke for the 5 of us. Slowly we started riding towards the Naddi Sunset Point. After an hour we reached the point and went to a small open cafe at the top. The view there was extremely wonderful. We can witness the hills covered in snow nearby. Not enough to go there. And the valley of small hills looked beautiful with the Sunset. We ordered some food and tea and enjoyed the Sunset. After an hour there we decided to head back as it was getting chilly. We started riding back towards McLeodganj town.
