I boarded the train to Delhi from Bhubaneswar. As the train was late by 5 hours , I missed my bus to Manali which I have booked through Red Bus app. I reached Delhi at 10:30 PM. From the Anand Vihar Railway Terminal , I directly went to ISBT Kashmeeri Gate and took a HRTC bus to Manali. I reached Manali on 8th March ( 3 :00 PM ) .
As I am zostel passport member , I have already decided to book my stay at Zostel Manali. I took a cab from Volvo bus stand to zostel. Zostel is located in the Manu temple road under the foothills of the Mighty Himalayas. The setting of the hostel was awesome . Met a lot of solo travellers there. I along with some of the travellers went to visit the Manu Temple which was just half a km and then had our dinner at a cafe named the lazy dog. We can certainly see the snowclad mountains all around the place. We returned back to our zostel doorms and had a lite activity session there . At night we had some wine just beside the foothills of the mountain and then went back to sleep afterwards .
We booked a cab to visit Kothi village - The last Village of Manali. We had a choice if either going to Kothi or Solang , as we are less interested in snow sports we went to kothi. One thing you would absolutely love about kothi is that it's very less crowded. The best part of travelling to Kothi is the journey itself . The small pathways with snow at both the sides . The view of the mountain valley . The clouds touching the mountain tops , the icy breeze , the fresh white snow it was all so mesmerizing. We decided to spend some time there , take some photos had a mountain bike ride etc. We went to a cafe named the Apple tree cafe just at the top end of the village. They were only serving limited items but the view is what that matters . That's the highlighting point of my journey.
While returning we went to vashisth village from where we will be treking to the Jogini Falls. The trek is of 3 KM in total . The trek is tough as there is snow everywhere . So it's better to have some gears with you which will protect you from slipping. But after reaching there you will realize it is worth trekking to Jogini falls . It's better to take friends with you , solo treking is not advisable.
After that we returned back to zostel. Had some snacks at zostel cafe . Brought some hand made shawls for our friends , packed our backpacks and then went to Volvo bus stand to catch our bus to Delhi .
The trip was very short , but it will certainly be in my memory lane forever . A special thanks to Zostel Manali.
