1) By Road
For those wondering how to reach Kasol by road, it’s one of the best ways to travel to the hamlet. Numerous foreign travellers come here often and so the roads to Kasol are quite excellent. To reach Kasol by road, you have to get on to the NH-3 which is the main road that leads to Kasol on its way to Manali. The road journey to Kasol is full of scenic views and delightful little surprises along the way. Many people choose to drive as the experience can be quite different and refreshing. However, you need to be an experienced driver to navigate the tricky roads that you will come across here. If you are even the slightest bit doubtful of your abilities, then avoid driving to Kasol on your own. However, for those planning to reach Kasol by road, most people choose to take Delhi as the base. There are several agencies from where you can hire a vehicle for rent or opt for a cab service to drive you to Kasol. There are daily buses which travel to Kasol from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate ISBT and most of these are semi-sleeper Volvos. The journey takes around 11 to 12 hours and you have to get down at Bhuntar and take another bus towards Manikaran. If you start from Chandigarh, then the journey takes around 7 hours via road. Once again, you can take a bus or hire a cab for the journey. There are also private taxis that you can take from Bhuntar to Kasol and the journey of 40kms takes around 3 hours to complete. Being a remote hamlet in Himachal Pradesh, Kasol does not have a railway station. The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station which is 144km from Kasol. If you are wondering how to reach Kasol by train, then you can take a train to Joginder Nagar Railway Station and from there you can hire a cab to take you to Kasol. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Joginder Nagar Bus Stand which will take you to Manikaran which is very close to Kasol. Another option is to travel to Chandigarh Railway Station if you are planning to come by train. Chandigarh is well-connected to major Indian cities and is 296kms away from Kasol. Kasol cannot be easily accessed by air. The nearest airport is the Kullu Manali Airport, also known as Bhuntar Airport. Bhuntar is around 30kms from Kasol and you can hire a cab or a taxi to take your from Bhuntar to Kasol, once you land at the airport. There are daily flights which connect Delhi to Bhuntar and are operated by several major domestic airlines.
