Dashaur Lake, lies near Rohtang pass in Manali Kullu region. Dashaur Lake is a high altitude lake  nestled amidst the towering mountains of Pir Panjals to its Northern side, where as the colossal rock wonders of the Dhauladhars’ guard its Southern side. Dashaur lake is also known by several other names Dashir, Sarkund and Sheela Sar. It is situated at an altitude of 15000 ft approx and remains covered in a sheet of ice most of the time during the year.It is believed that waters of Dashaur Lake have curative and healing powers and a dip will cure you of many illnesses. The lake draws scores of local pilgrims during the months of August and September. The walk to the lake is a gradual climb. You can have view of Lord Gehpan (5870m) and Mt Hanuman Tibba (5960m) from lake. The route is winding along the mountains. An adequate level of fitness is essential for this trek. Apart from the steep terrain, it is important to get acclimatized to the altitude which is more than 4000 metres above sea level.You can also have view of the dazzling beauty of Kullu valley. It is advisable to hire a guide as one can lose one’s way in the mountains.
