Krazy in Kufri

Left Chandigarh on day 1, with friends who wanted to go to Shimla. It was a rainy day in Chandigarh, bit it was a completely different story in Shimla with heaps of snowfall happening and the roads becoming thereby inaccessible. After being stuck in traffic for about three hours, we decided to take a break in Shogi a town about 15km from Shimla as the roadblock seemed to be pretty huge. We stayed the night in a retreat in Shogi after a little searching in the dark.

We hoped to reach Shimla today and do some site seeing. But the weather had different plans, as it was still really cold and the roads covered in ice, so Old Shimla and all roads leading ahead we closed for transport. But having made up my mind to reach Kufri at all costs, I left on foot. The place I wanted to go was 22km from Shimla but I'd made up my mind and nothing could stop me. I had 2 heavy bags as I was planning a month long stay and hence walking with such heavy bags was a task. I took 4 hours to reach from Shimla bus stand to Sanjauli and another hour to reach Dhalli where there were hopes of catching a pickup truck or a 4x4 cab we higher. But the time  I reached Dhalli(12km walk) , I was really spent and hence asked a guy in a pick up truck to do me a favour, to which he readily agreed as he was going the same way. I finally reached my destination all tired, so I had dinner and slept off

Woke up in Gallu Kalan village in Kufri, in Firdaus boutique homestay, where I'm going to be working as a volunteer for the rest of the month now. It's an amazing cosy place with views of the sunrise from all the rooms and dorms.
